  1. NO. He’s already considered ‘uppity’ by many.
He need to play this like chess, when in doubt, push a pawn.

  2. He has many baffled! That includes people from all sides of the political spectrum.

His presidency is what — about 4 months old? He’s done more already than many two-term presidents and most importantly, what he has done has had positive effects.

He thinks, he reasons, he is pragmatic. How refreshing.

This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t hold him accountable! He asked us to do that and he wants to stay in touch with Americans. He wants us to accept the responsibilities of our citizenship along with the rights.

LOL I do have a reactionary side to me! And several times since President Obama has taken office I have found myself either disappointed or outraged by his decisions. The Problem with him is I generally found that once I hear his explanation of the why’s of his decision I understand why he decided to handle it that way! When the problem is as large as a forest fire, there is no way to with just one water bomb to put the fire out.

Perhaps that is one real difference between a real Republican and a Democrat, a Republican often looks at the problem and looks for a step by step, methodic method to handle and resolve the problem. While a Democrat see a problem and wants a way to solve the problem with one big effort.
Both are wanting the same thing that being the problem solved, but we differ as just how to reach that solution.

President Obama is stuck between the two as to how to solve the problems this country faces.
I did not see why he would continue some of on the face of it were Bush actions. BUT then I listen this morning to his speech. I realized that I was falling into a trap that often catches many. I was looking at it in a blanket method. For some of the detainees the military commissions is the only way to handle them.
Stuck with the problem that there is not enough evidence for a criminal action. But enough that there is a real threat. The solution called for a incremental stepping.

I think Obama is a different political animal and Washington DC has yet to figure this man out. Some on both sides of the aisle are still trying to dictate to Obama what they will or will not tolerate and I just don’t think Obama plays that way.

Sekan is right – Obama is a chess player and maybe some of his political opponents are still playing checkers?

I do not recall his name, it was the first time I had seen him and he was a minor player in the Democratic Congress. he made this statement: For eight years we did not oppose anything that came from the President.
So we felt it was time to stand up to the president and show we have a back bone!”.
He was referring to the Congress voting down the funding to move the detainees.

To me it was like the guy who said that he has the utmost respect for women and their opinions.
But then considers his wife as nothing more than a spot of mud on his boot heel.

Maybe I don’t understand all the complexities of an issue, but I have faith that my president does. I don’t agree with every decision he makes, and some of them puzzle me greatly, but I am seriously impressed with his intelligence, calm and measured approach.

I believe in this man. I feel very much reassured that my children’s and grandchildren’s future is in good hands.

I worry about deficits and the National debt, but I believe that Barack saw a need that perhaps I didn’t.

The bottom line, in my mind, is that for the first time in a long time, I trust the President.

    That is saying a lot.

Well said and I agree 100%.

Obama’s calm temperament, self-assurance and intelligence is what drives the Republicans nuts.

That is just the cherry on top with this president, in my opinion.
