  1. When Trump Fans Say He’s “Keeping His Promises,” Show Them This List
    http://washingtonjournal.com/2017/07/19/trump-fans-say-hes-keeping-promises-show-list/

    • Rick Liebst

      Of course showing them facts is not going to prove it to them. It is give him time or blaming the failure on the liberals and their anti American plans.

  2. Rick Liebst

    I find the cartoon both correct and every bit sad. For at least some of his followers the investment is on that level. Near to the worship of God, putting hopes and dreams into this mere mortal. So when his does fall short for them. It will be just that farther for them to fall, perhaps the difference will be that unlike a faith in God. That failure can not be dismissed as simply it is God’s will.

    • I think these Mega Evangelical Christian Corporate Churches have done a lot of damage to the definition of true Christianity.

      I have previously shared that I am a graduate of an Evangelical Baptist College in the mid 1970’s. I was in that group of these Christians who (at that time) were just beginning to wade into the politics of our country.

      Since Reagan teamed up with Jerry Falwell SR in 1980 to smear the good name of Jimmy Carter – these Mega Corporate Church Preachers and Televangelists have gone ‘RAMBO Commando’ in their power grabbing through politics.

      And what has happened since that time? More and More average working class Americans are working harder – making less wages and losing benefits like pension and health care.

      At the same time – these Mega Churches have grown and built even more buildings on their tax-free prime real estate and pull in millions of tax-free money every week.

      And TRUMP is their Savior?

      That speaks volumes…..

  3. CBO: Under the latest Senate healthcare bill, deductibles could be more than some people earn

  4. Here is some good news . The Senate parliamentarian ruled that some parts of the Senate health care bill are subject to filibuster. The following provisions from the original plan would be subject to a 60-vote point of order:
    Defunding Planned Parenthood;
    Abortion Restrictions for Tax Credits;
    Sunset of Essential Health Benefits Requirement for Medicaid;
    Funding for Cost-Sharing Subsidies;
    Stabilizing the Individual Insurance Markets;
    Medical Loss Ratio;
    Availability of Rollover Funds;
    Decrease in Target Expenditures for Required Expenditures by Certain Political Subdivisions;
    Grandfathering Certain Medicaid Waivers; Prioritization of HCBS Waivers; and
    Reporting of CMS-64 Data

  5. The N.Y. Times posted a “Fact Check” by Linda Qiu on its 50-minute interview with Trump, under the headline “Trump made several misleading claims in times interview.” Here are the eight headings:

    He misrepresented how health insurance works.

    He falsely said the wife of the Japanese prime minister “doesn’t speak English,” not even “hello.”

    He said news about Russia “wasn’t hot” when his son met with a Russian lawyer in June 2016.

    He said he discussed adoptions with Mr. Putin. That’s a proxy for sanctions.

    He incorrectly recounted the history of the F.B.I. and falsely said its director “really reports directly to the president of the United States.”

    He described savings from health care and tax cuts as a “windfall” for the middle class. The cuts are generally more beneficial to the wealthy.

    He incorrectly said Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, was “from Baltimore.”(“Rosenstein grew up in Philadelphia … He was appointed the United States attorney for Maryland, based in Baltimore, in 2005 by President George W. Bush, a Republican. Mr. Rosenstein lives in Bethesda, Md.”)

    He offered a distorted history of Paris and Napoleon.

    The new guy – Anthony Scarmucci – reminded me of a typical Evangelical Mega Preacher and their Cousin Bubba the Televangelist. Very good at shoveling the B.S. and then smirking all the way through it.

    At the end of this most recent circus act – the only message that I remembered was how much this guy claims to LOVE President Trump and that he is there to serve President Trump.

    No mention of serving All Americans – just President Trump?

    Why does this change in Communications Director feel like a re-run of that infamous Cabinet Meeting when they all took turns to heap LOVE and praise to Trump?

    Hmmmm..

    From this video – it seems I am not the only one that got the same message that Trump picked himself a real ‘winner’ and who is willing to spread that LOVE – or is it just more B.S.?

    Evangelical Christians think Trump is their Savior. Excuse me, but doesn’t the Bible talk against a man being prideful, hate filled, vengeful and a man who is not willing to humble themselves?

    Just asking..

    =====

    I agree with Jeb Bush on these issues.

    BTW – In this article, Jeb Bush referenced he predicted Trump would be a chaos president at some conference put on by Skybridge Hedge Fund.

    Isn’t this the same Skybridge group owned by Anthony Scarmucci (the new WH Communications Director) and has been reported he sold this company to Chinese conglomerate with ties to the Chinese government.

    IIRC – Scarmucci was considered for a WH job before now – but his ownership of this Skybridge was a potential ethics violation?

    But – bottom line – this guy sold his Venture Capitalist group to Chinese-government wealthy folks.

    First we have Russians all over the Trump Team and now we’re seeing the Chinese getting their foot into the door?

    My – oh my – can you imagine what these same Trumpublicans would be saying if their President Obama had dome the same thing??

    Which brings me to the article above – Jeb Bush is 100% correct when he says that if it is wrong for the ‘other guy’ to do the same thing that ‘your guy’ is doing – then ‘your guy’ is also wrong.

  8. Scaramucci is a member of the “really rich guys” club. As such, he’ll know how to run the communications office the way 45 wants it done, namely “my way or the highway”. As demonstrated by his appearance on the Sunday shows, he’s planning to show anyone who leaks the “highway”, and given his business background, he’s not going to have any trouble with the “highway” part.

    Hey, it’s only business, right? /sarcasm

  9. Bob White

    Chritianity has certainly been severly damaged by its contemporaries. Such begain even before Jesus’ death. And it continues, today. Most of the damage has been perpetrated by believers.

    • Agreed 100% – which is the saddest part in all this chaos – and the reason I get so angry at these FAKE Christians that truly believe they will be sitting on the right hand of God at Judgement Day so they can laugh when all the evil Liberal heathens will be thrown into the bowels of Hell.

      WOW – what part of the Bible did that story come from??

    Trump is NOT the problem – it’s these Trump Supporters who refuse to acknowledge facts.

    George W. Bush lost the Popular Vote in 2000 – but I don’t remember GWB having a temper tantrum about that – or didn’t I get that memo?
