I think we are in a time warp somewhere and the ‘in’ thing right now is to elect the dumbest jock from the locker room to run our country and the groupies are all lined up with their pom poms to make the jock feel superior to us peons around him.

I knew Americans have been dumbed down – but this is ridiculous.

I heard yesterday on the Public Radio news that Wisconsin’s recount came down to Trump beat Hillary by 1/2 of 1 percentage point. That is not exactly a mandate for Trump and his destructive plans – IMHO

  2. (from the link): No, Mr. Trump didn’t “stand up” to Carrier — he seems to have offered it a bribe. And we’re talking about a thousand jobs in a huge economy; at the rate of one Carrier-size deal a week, it would take Mr. Trump 30 years to save as many jobs as President Obama did with the auto bailout; it would take him a century to make up for the overall loss of manufacturing jobs just since 2000.

And if and when the reality that workers are losing ground starts to sink in, I worry that the Trumpists will do what authoritarian governments often do to change the subject away from poor performance: go find an enemy.

Remember what I said about Trump Twitter. Even as he took a big step toward taking health insurance away from millions, Mr. Trump started ranting about taking citizenship away from flag-burners. This was not a coincidence.

The point is to keep your eye on what’s important. Millions of Americans have just been sucker-punched. They just don’t know it yet.

  3. Seems to be a good word to describe the world trends these days. Same word applied before Great Depression and World Wars?

    • No, as to both World Wars, where isolationism was in vogue, as well as right before the Great Depression.

    • I suspect these White Evangelical Kristians are cock strutting over the real chance of getting their Holy War started under Trump.

These so-called Christians knew they would never get any war from Obama – especially a Holy War.

So – these white folks went out and found the biggest bully on the play ground and pushed him to win the White House – but only by Electoral College – because Hillary won the Popular Vote by more than 2.3 million votes.
I wonder how many of these find Kristian folks have their bags packed to volunteer to do the actual fighting and dying this time around?

    • How do you think Trump will handle all the cartoons, SNL skits and other criticism that is bound to be thrown his way in the next four years?

We’ve already seen how Trump goes on his Twitter Rants – will that be allowed once he is sworn in?

BTW – China has filed a formal complaint over Trump’s call with Taiwan.

Hmmm……perhaps the fact that Trump seems to not have the first clue as to how our government truly works – and he also brags that he does not care about all those rules and regulations.

Campaigning to a bunch of White Evangelical Kristians who have hated Obama for the past 8 years is easy – but now the test of governing is about to be thrust on to the Donald.

These are interesting times……SCARY as hell times…..but will be interesting to watch.

IMHO – Trump is way in over his head and I suspect he really did not want to win this coveted prize of the White House. But his faithful supporters put him there and expecting all their jobs to be coming back.

Wonder what excuse Trump will use when that does not happen?
