LOL I always try to put these images on my Facebook page. .It spreads the word and of course in this case many I know are old enough that it is a concern.
BTW – I’ve seen this theory on more than a few times in other blogs.
It goes like this:
Trump is really just a decoy for Hillary Clinton. As long as Trump leads in the GOP primary race, he is taking up all the oxygen in the room AND he is keeping all the other candidates busily spending their campaign funds – and we are still quite a way out from the first primary voters.
So – if Trump wins the GOP nomination, then he can let loose with his really stupid statements (as if he hasn’t already gone there) – and that will get him knocked out and Hillary will win.
OR the other theory is – Trump goes third party (self funded) and he splits up the Republican vote – so Hillary wins.
Hmmm…..history about to repeat itself with the Clintons?
Let’s not forget – Bill Clinton was in a three-way race and he won – and the theory was back then that Ross Perot split up the GOP vote.
History does tend to repeat itself – but this time it is Hillary’s turn?
Paris is more than 5,000 miles away from Arizona, but the ALEC-Koch crew is working hard to scuttle any global climate accord.
Two conferences are taking place this week 5,438 miles apart. The agendas could not be more different. The stakes could not be any higher.
In Paris,120 world leaders are meeting under the auspices of the United Nations in an urgent effort to prevent catastrophic climate change, which threatens the lives and livelihoods of millions around the globe.
In Arizona, global fossil fuel companies and giant utility firms will go behind closed doors with American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) politicians in a continued effort to derail any global agreement with state lawsuits designed to sink President Obama’s Clean Power Plan with cement boots.
Have you noticed the numerous television ads about how wonderful the Koch people are and how much they CARE about us? There is one guy down in Brazil (I think?) that is working on how to clean up the polluted water so it is safe to drink.
So…..I guess now we see why this current marketing scheme is in full force. I wonder how many people know what these same Koch Brothers are really doing behind closed doors with ALEC?
All the marketing in the world cannot change a pile of dog shit into something other than a pile of dog shit.
I’m already seeing people on the other blog I follow blame all the Muslims for this latest mass killing – because the couple was Muslim.
But where was that same logic last week when the mass killer was a self-admitted white middle-aged male Kristian? I saw the same folks demonizing this Muslim couple trying to distance themselves from their fellow Kristian.
And -yes – I intentionally use the letter ‘K’ when labeling these folks – because the Bible tells me ‘ye shall know them by their fruits’.
These Kristians are nothing like Jesus Christ – but they are very good at making money off the marketing of themselves as followers of Jesus.
I’m sure folks on the Right Side of the Aisle will tell us how we all need to seek God and be saved – per rigid instructions from just the ‘right’ folks – you betcha Wink-wink
Of course, we need to bring God and Jesus back into the classroom.
Of course, we need to ban all homosexuals and prostitutes
Of course, we all need to have traditional marriages – but it’s okay if daddy finds himself a new trophy wife and dumps his first wife and kids so daddy can marry the trophy wife, annul his first marriage and be a ‘good’ Catholic. (I’ve known several cases like this).
Of course, we can all lie, cheat and steal to serve our true God – the Almighty Dollar.
But don’t for one second blame the easy access to too-many-damn guns in our country.
I woke up this morning to continued news of the most recent senseless mass killing.
As I listened to the news – I just have to shake my head and ask the big question – What the hell is going on in our country?
As I was asking myself that question – the same news hour celebrities were all too busy selling the next big ‘must-have’ consumer product.
Then it hit me – that is what is wrong with our country. Too much damn consumerism?
Too much free time on our hands?
Too much technology that can be used for good and/or bad?
Are we a society of people that are just conditioned to think this lifestyle we’re living is a good thing? This constant PUSH-PUSH-PUSH (like this incessant consumerism).
I remember the first thing President Obama said about this California shooting – we should not think this is normal.
But I wonder – are we as a society becoming so used to hearing the news of yet another mass killing that it does not really affect us any more?
The last thing we need is the NRA and their bought-and-paid-for Republicans to hijack this conversation into how we need MORE guns in our society.
As we have seen way too many times – our access to guns in America has never been a problem.
BUT – when Republicans use the argument that guns don’t kill people – people kill people. I agree. The guns do not grow legs and arms to walk into a building and start pulling that trigger to kill as many people as possible.
But I disagree with Republicans when they push for the NRA’s idea of absolutely NO gun control.
That just does not make any sense to me – at all.
I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s. Every house had at least one gun (hunting rifles mostly). We never heard of kids killing themselves or their brothers/sisters and/or playmates when they found a gun.
We were taught to respect the power of the gun and to NEVER touch the gun.
We also did not see these mass killings that become so common in our society.
We did not have gun control laws back then – but we had something that was much more powerful.
We had people who respected the law – respected the power of the gun – and had common respect for each other.
We also did not live this PUSH-PUSH-PUSH lifestyle we have today. In my part of the world, most of the mothers were stay-at-home Moms. The fathers all had jobs that paid a family wage – so the mother needing to work was not even a factor.
I’m not trying to say that those years were perfect and we had no problems – because we did have problems in our country.
But, at least, we did not have a bunch of senseless mass killings and this idea of people doing whatever they want, to whomever they want, to get whatever they want and they all justify their actions by their God, or their religion, or this insane crappola of always playing the persecution card.
I don’t know the answer to this dilemma.
All I know is – our country has a cancer growing and it’s on this adrenaline high of using guns.
This cancer needs to be confined and then cut out – and if that means the NRA and its supporters lose their profits – then so be it.
BTW – Sorry for the rambling but I am really feeling pessimistic today. I just don’t know how to help my kids and grandkids because they are the ones that will have to live with how our country responds to these all-too-common mass killings.
May I borrow a phrase from Prairie Pond? Jesus Wept

Support Bernie Sanders at the ballot box to eliminate such nonsense!
I like Bernie Sanders a lot.
But I also have this fear that our country has become so dumbed down to the point a President Trump is never really out of the realm of possibility.
I look around the Republican Party and their three-ring circus (or 15 rings?) and I don’t put anything past any of those Republicans.
The only way to prevent such a GOP clown in power is for all Democrats and Independents to stand up and be the adults in the room.

Maybe we Americans will just shoot each other and all other problems / challenges won’t matter.
