I don’t know which hurts the most — the lying politicians or the numbers of people who believe them. I’m leaning toward the people they fool being the biggest problem. After all, these idiots didn’t elect themselves.
Yes, I agree: Our collective and significant problem is the breadth of ignorance, especially about the fundamentals of public service and our common good. And it shows-up, most often, in our politics.
While Ted Cruz and fellow Repukes are making numbers up – I wonder how many of those 92 million unemployed Americans are sitting in front of their television sets with their eye affixated on Foxxies Hen House Cluck Fest?
We know Foxxies have the majority of retired old white fart males (usually retired from some government-type job) and they get the lion’s share of the health care dollars and other government benefits (dare I say ‘entitlements?).
I know from my experience living in the South – there are a lot of redneck, Bible-thumping, Gay-hating, Black-hating white folks who are on some type of government assistance – welfare and/or disability (of course, that disability is for their back and has been going on since they were in the 20’s).
But these folks always play their Free Pass from Jesus card when they justify their government checks coming to their house..
