  1. “I no longer have patience for certain things, not because I’ve become arrogant, but simply because I reached a point in my life where I do not want to waste more time with what displeases me or hurts me. I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of any nature. I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me. I no longer spend a single minute on those who lie or want to manipulate. I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty and cheap praise. I do not tolerate selective erudition nor academic arrogance. I do not adjust either to popular gossiping. I hate conflict and comparisons. I believe in a world of opposites and that’s why I avoid people with rigid and inflexible personalities. In friendship I dislike the lack of loyalty and betrayal. I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement. Exaggerations bore me and I have difficulty accepting those who do not like animals. And on top of everything I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve my patience.” — Meryl Streep

    • understand this, I have been getting accused of becoming crabby but simply explain it is that I have gotten tired of smiling in people’s faces when I really want to just tell them how bat -shit crazy I think they are being!

      • Yep! Me too. And, I like the person I have become after 67 years (although I hope to keep improving in whatever number of years are left) so why would I subject her to nonsense, bigotry, hate, conflict, lies, hurt and manipulation?

  2. (from the link): What Sen. Sanders explained in the video above is what the Republican Party and the Koch brothers don’t want the American people to understand. The IRS scandal isn’t about the “targeting” of conservative groups. The scandal is a Republican attempt to scare the IRS off of looking into their dark money groups and the billionaires who fund them. Republicans are trying to protect their money machine.

The GOP is extremely dependent on large donors for their funding. They don’t have the small donor base that fuels the Democratic Party. This is why Republicans are pushing for more unlimited contributions in politics. More unlimited contributions mean more direct spending by billionaires to buy their candidates, and when a billionaire owns a member of Congress, that member no longer works for the American people.

    • From everything I’ve read about the Koch Brothers’ father – it simply proved the old saying – the nuts do not fall too from the nut tree

    • Asher Bob White

See, that’s the real issue …. their’s is not a matter of “need”, it is a matter of “greed”. Wouldn’t it be really significant if the Kochs used all they have been given, because they haven’t “earned” anything, especially mankind’s regard, to help those who are marginalized in their life’s experiences?

      • Do these folks even see others in this world as human beings?

Or do they think just because they throw a few millions to a few charities that they have done their part for those unfortunate souls?

The Bible teaches – to whom much is given, much is required (or something to that effect)

  3. Regarding Obama’s tan suit – I heard some Republican critics state that he wore this inappropriate color for his suit because he was talking about the possibility of going to war.

    WTH….

As we can see from today’s graphic – George W. Bush wore a tan suit and wasn’t his entire presidency in some form of going to war? Either in the run-up to the damn war or the actual sending of military troops to do the actual fighting for these Republicans who seem to have this insatiable thirst for wars.

  4. http://news.msn.com/us/former-top-us-republican-cantor-to-work-on-wall-street

Who didn’t see this one coming?

Come on, you seriously did not think Eric Cantor would actually go get a ‘real’ job – did you?

I wish we could pass a law to mandate every elected official has to prove they have worked at a physical labor – , low-wage job before they can even enter into the Halls of Congress.

Janitor, housekeeper, fast food worker, day care worker, farm worker and any other of a myriad of employment choices.

Well, lookie here…..Eric Cantor’s wife is also an investment banker.

        Imagine that…..

But, it appears his wife’s bank received quite a heft few millions from that terrible, awful bank bailout that her hubby Eric was so upset about and railed against with two clenched fists….

Yeah – while hubby was putting on his political theatre show – his wife’s bank partners were grabbing the taxpayers money with her two fists.

And then she claims that she did not know anything about it…

      • Yep, Eric Cantor cashed in by joining a wall street investment bank. Doing their bidding paid off! It’s what republicans do.

      • I am still waiting for a reply from Mike Pompeo regarding my concerns regarding several issues I raised in my letter to him a couple weeks ago.

He might have been offended when I told him that I do not like being associated with a group that wants me to hate Obama 24/7.

I do not wake up every day with a burning hatred for President Obama. I do not like everything that he has done and said – but who has been a perfect president?

I told Pompeo that Obama has a thankless job and that I pray for the man – instead of demonizing him and hating him 24/7.

I ended my letter by telling Pompeo that he also has a thankless job and that while I do not agree with what he says and does – I also do not hate him. I also pray for him.

Too many of these current CONservative Republicans are folks who only see black and white on every issue.

Life is not black and white – there are a lot of gray areas. Life is messy and we need to be able to learn from our messes after we clean them up.

For example – how many wars have we started over political crap – or the US meddling into who is the dictator of choice for that particular foreign country?

IMHO – chickens have been coming home to roost for quite awhile now. Not everyone in this world believe that the USA is such a noble and compassionate country.

It’s kinda hard to continue believing that when you’re being hit with drone strikes……and the political landscape is filled with corrupt people.

I’ve heard several pundits talk about the current ISIS terrorists in Iraq. The few wise ones that I have been fortunate to hear will say the same thing.

ISIS is able to do what they are currently doing because the Iraqi Prime Minister Al Maliki (the guy GWB and Gang put into power in Iraq) did not include EVERY faction of the Iraqis into his government when the US was in their country fighting and dying for their right to form that damn government.

Just like the Christian CONservative Republicans here in the USA – if these folks think that they will be given a free hand if they win the 2014 midterms and they institute their own version of laws…

the same thing will happen here that has happened in Iraq.

American politicians are very good at preaching about democracy and fairness to all……..but putting that into practice is a different story.

    ———
This settlement is just a drop in the bucket for Halliburton.

Take special note of the sentence about halfway through this article.

In 2013 Halliburton was fined for destroying evidence..

    WTH…..

If you or I were caught destroying evidence – what the are chances we would find our butts in prison?

No one is above the in America – is what I was taught.

Apparently, that rule has been changed…..

    • Also take special note – Halliburton is based in Dubai and Houston.

Hmmm……..wasn’t it a Dubai corporation that so many Republicans (Bob Dole was one of their leading lobbyists) wanted to hand over the security of all of America’s ports several years back?

      Again….WTH….

    • correction: no one is above the law in America…

      • Well, that’s the way it’s touted to be anyway. Most of us see all too often how justice can be bought, and laws only pertain to those who can’t buy the exceptions. Do you really think the Koch brothers worry about what the laws are?

      • I’ve known wealthy people.
I’ve known average people who work hard to be comfortable.
        I’ve known poor people.

In my past experiences – I have found more generosity and compassion in the last two categories than these wealthy people.

I suspect that something happens to the brain when too much money shows up in the picture.

Maybe the scientists should do some studies into if there is such a gene called – I am wealthy, therefore, I am an asshole.
