  1. Active U.S. Hate Groups

The Southern Poverty Law Center counted 939 active hate groups in the United States in 2013. Only organizations and their chapters known to be active during 2013 are included.

All hate groups have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics.

This list was compiled using hate group publications and websites, citizen and law enforcement reports, field sources and news reports.

Hate group activities can include criminal acts, marches, rallies, speeches, meetings, leafleting or publishing. Websites appearing to be merely the work of a single individual, rather than the publication of a group, are not included in this list. Listing here does not imply a group advocates or engages in violence or other criminal activity.

  2. Without these “radical feminist” she rails against she wouldn’t have ever been allowed on the floor to speak in the first place. Let alone vote, drive, wear pants, make her own money, and control how many kids she has.

We all know the good men and the wise women are working with us. The men and women who wish for an underclass of women who don’t have equal rights will be left in the dustbin of history.

    • Is there anything this woman will not scream and rant against?

Oh yeah ……M-O-N-E-Y……just another typical RePUKE Evangelinut politician.

  3. The right to free speech is very similar to the freedom of religion.

You can have your religion but you do not have the right to dictate a specific religion to me – nor do you have the right to make laws and government reflect only your religion.

Have you ever noticed that Evangelinuts are the ones pushing for prayers in school?

That would be cool – IF these folks would also allow Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish and any other prayers in school.

But isn’t it very telling that these Evangelinuts only want their prayers in school …no other kind need apply…

    • Yep! What kind of world would we live in if each of us thought along these lines?

      • Sounds to me like these were the things Jesus did in the Bible.

Isn’t it a shame how some of these churchies can only do the cock strut while patting themselves on the back as if they were actually following their professed leader – Jesus

      • Asher Bob White

I agree. This sounds like something that might have originally been authored by a person named Jesus.

      • —-

When I hear the name Gandhi – I think of this quote.

When I hear these Evangelinuts scream and rant about how they are so persecuted – I think of this quote from Gandhi.

      • We so often think alike. I think of evangelinuts when I hear this quote, and it’s the Gandhi quote I always remember.

      • fnord – we do often think alike …..and that’s a good thing

I suspect we can both spot a pile of B.S. a mile away – and from these CONservative Republicans – the rancid smell alone is a big red flag…

  4. Kansas economy still a concern as spotlight remains on Brownback

    Read more here:

    • The graph in this article is a great refutation of the wingnuts who say California is dying because of its liberal policies, and wingnut, deep red, repuke controlled states are doing well with their “pity the billionaires” policies.

      uh huh.

See graph for how that’s a workin’ for them.

  5. Rachel Maddow did a great piece last night on the disaster that is the economy of Brownbackistan. I think you can find it over at

    Go Rachel!

  6. In fact, Rachel interviewed Dave Heller, the guy who authored the article in Fnord’s link. It was a great interview. Who knew anyone gave a damn about how we are heading over a fiscal cliff in Kansas? Not to mention a sanity cliff….

  7. Trying to imagine what it would be like if Obama were president during the 1983 Beirut attacks that killed 241 Americans.

(from the link): A terrorist attack on a U.S. outpost in the Middle East. Americans killed. Congressional hearings. Evidence that the administration failed to take security as seriously as it should have.

It was over 30 years ago that a terrorist attack on a U.S. Marine compound in Beirut killed 241 American servicemen, which came just six months after militants had bombed the U.S. embassy in Beirut, killing 63 people, including 17 Americans.

A tale of two terrorist attacks

  8. The most frustrating comment I would make to my former workplace filled with Tea Party Evangelinut Republicans was this:

I prefer Obama on his worst day than any Republican on his best day.

That one comment would usually stop the insanity of the circle of GOP talking point nonsense we were engaged in and the Republican would usually walk off in a huff – or shaking their head like I was the one with the problem.
