  1. Wouldn’t it be nicer if the issue of our elected official’s sexual orientation was NOT such a big history-making accomplishment?

As we’ve seen from these same Conservative Christian Republicans – they do not seem to care when their heterosexual males commit adultery or talk about ‘legitimate’ rape or how spousal rape is not even possible.

We’ve also seen these Conservative Christian Republicans as they surround themselves with the corporate welfare queens and then want to take away food stamps feeding hungry kids.

So….a person’s sexual orientation is not exactly even register on my radar of what I would call ‘problems in our society’.

There is a difference between sexual orientation and sexual behavior.

If a homosexual is raping and assaulting people – then it is their sexual behavior that is the problem – not their sexual orientation.

But – the same argument can be said about heterosexuals – if they are raping and assaulting people – then it is their sexual BEHAVIOR is the problem – not their sexual orientation.

But….as I referenced above….there are those Conservative Christian Republican males that seem to think that men have the right to assault and rape their wives – and that is a bigger problem – IMHO

For example – that guy that said about spousal rape – she in her nightie…..I guess that means this particular group of CCR males are admitting that men are incapable of self control….

If so, then that proves my point – it is the sexual BEHAVIOR that is the problem……

    NOT sexual orientation…

I don’t expect any of the Conservative Christian Republicans to change their minds……….I suspect too many tax free church dollars and election campaign donor dollars are pouring in because this issue works like a dog whistle to rile up the Rabid Religious Republicans…

    • I think it’s the method they use to keep people who vote for them from paying attention to their evil. They use these hot-button issues, tie them to gawd and keep people fooled.

  2. Can you imagine the outrage if Putin had said that Catholics tend to be pedophiles because this particular church was forced to pay out millions to victims of child molesters dressed in a priest robe while he church leaders knowingly covered their crimes?

But, we never hear that from anyone’s mouth……do we?

  3. Can someone please explain to me…….if these two brothers were not aware of the faulty processing equipment that washed their canteloupes these two were sending out into the market for public consumption…..

THEN….is this processing company – that had the actual faulty equipment – of the hook?

Were the folks who were in charge of this faulty equipment ever charged with any crime?

Or….is it just ….business as usual?

THIS type of corporate S-H-I-T has got to be stopped….IMHO

  4. It would be a good start if they just paid even close to the same percentage the rest of us do! Or if they followed the same tax laws and had only the same tax exemptions available to them that we do.

  5. How did republicans convince their followers business owners are the ones who do all the work and deserve all the rewards and all the workers deserve is the job given to them? Republicans are some folks easy to lead and easier to fool! Corporations have been railing against government regulations ever since they couldn’t any longer have slaves.

    • Another thought: how much have corporate profits risen from the year 1842 to now?

Corporate profits are sky rocketing……….but yet we never hear the whiners ever mention that fact – do we?

Corporate Whiners have manipulated themselves into power – and the Republican Party has jumped on board by manipulating the Rabid Religious Right folks into getting God/Jesus to give his blessing on the rampant and unchristian way these corporations make their profits.

Take another drive down 21st North street from the point of the highway and go East.

Just count the number of huge mega churches…built on prime real estate…..and all being tax free ‘businesses’…….

That is the biggest disgrace of all this crappola – IMHO

  6. (from the link): The Hutch News found an internal State of the State memo from Sam Brownback to his legislative and special interest buddies. Here’s a snippet: “Turns out Kansans like education for their children. We totally misjudged this one. From now on we won’t refer to teachers as lazy, unqualified, elitist or constant drains on the economy.”

As we all know, the best comedy / satire is always based squarely around the truth.

    • LOL that is so the true, never do I laugh so hard as when reality is more outlandish then the best that the writers on the shows can come up with.
The sad part about that is that it is all too much real and more real then you ever see on one of those reality shows!

  7. (from the link): The thing is, there are no jobs bills waiting for approval by the Senate. The new tactic by House Republicans is to call every single bill that they pass a ‘jobs bill.’ An anti-abortion bill? Yep, jobs bill. Approval of the Keystone XL pipeline that will put billions of dollars in the pockets of the Koch brothers? Yep, jobs bill. Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has actually put together a list of bills that have passed the House that he feels are ‘jobs bills.’ There is just one little problem. They aren’t going to create any new jobs!

In Boehner’s mind, repealing Obamacare, slashing regulations, gutting social programs and eliminating federal agencies is somehow going to create more jobs.

  8. House Republicans presented their insane ‘job plan’ at what was supposed to be a serious hearing. The HR 7 bill insults women and creates no jobs.

The statement below is hard to believe. One cannot make these things up. To Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) the Republican job plan can be tied to women’s reproductive rights. They intend to force women to reproduce against their will. This of course is something no man has to worry about.

“In addition I would suggest that it is very much the case that those of us in the majority support this legislation because it is the morally right thing to do. But it is also very very true that having a growing population, having new children brought into the world is not harmful to job creation. It very much promotes job creation, for all the care and services and so on that need to be provided by a lot of people to raise children.”

Listen to this idiot, Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) —

    • Am I the only one that remembers these very same CONservative Republicans bitch and moan when Hillary Clinton made the observation that it takes a village to raise a child.

But NOW these CONS are using that same argument (it takes a lot of people to provide and services to these children) as justification for telling women they have to become nothing more than birthing machines?

      WOW…..just….WOW

  9. We really can, and must, do better!

How many would look at this graphic and say something along the lines of, “I am not homeless, but if you are gonna start giving them away..where do I sign up?” Remember back a hundred years or so ago when the U. S. gave land away? And it was honorable to receive what was given?

  10. This is one of Brownback’s buddies.

Ya know, in stupid world where after 50 men no longer need prostate exams or pills for ED. [eye roll]
