  1. Wow, isn’t THAT the truth! I think that’s what is at the root of homophobia, racism, sexism, etc. People who have been in power always fear retribution for how they have treated others. They don’t need to meet their sky god to get what they deserve. If we had true equality, they could live in fear of getting what they deserve. I do not advocate turning the tables and treating them as they have treated us. I think they should just live in constant fear, looking over their shoulders at every turn, that it MIGHT happen to them.

I think that’s the real reason wingnuts fight so hard against same sex marriage. The people who say, “oh, I’m fine with civil unions but why do they have to take the word marriage?” As if the word “marriage” had a finite limit on how often it could be used. (big eye roll). And, we don’t want to “take” anything. We want to share equally. But at the bottom of that thought of “I don’t mind civil unions” is really the idea that they don’t mind if I have a relationship as long as it is regarded, both socially and legally, as “lesser than” theirs. As long as their marriage is superior to mine, they are fine with me having a “skim milk marriage” as the great Ruth Bader Ginsburg said.

Humans. Equality is just not in our nature. Like learning to bat left handed, we have to learn to initiate and foster equality.

Sometimes, given what turds humans and their human nature can be, I wish I was a dog.

  2. Hee hee heee. I’ve not seen any miracles yet, and I’m trying not to stop expecting them, but it’s getting harder as Zappadan goes along. But, anyway, Happy Zappadan to all.

In keeping with the graphic and all the horrible hate amendments in the states that forbid marriage equality, here is your Zappadan quotation for the day.

“The United States is a nation of laws: badly written and randomly enforced”
    Frank Zappa

  3. And, in case you’ve forgotten, it’s not only the holiday season for christmas, solstice, Hanukka, Kwanzza and Zappadan, its FESTIVUS for the rest of us!

In case you’ve forgotten, here’s a great way to laugh again at the holiday silliness.

  4. Tis the season…

Facebook is so full of it I can hardly go there. Must admit it takes much less time when bunches of the nonsense is scroll-over stuff. Today’s constantly reposted status begins, “Apparently the White House referred to Christmas Trees as Holiday Trees for the first time this year, which prompted CBS presenter, Ben Stein, to present this piece which I would like to share with you. The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.” It goes onandon and people are very willing to believe this shit because President Obama can be blamed. If you introduce facts they attack like a pack of wolves. If you simply post a link showing Mr. Stein debuted his piece in 2005, then they have another target. People seem to have worked up a really great amount of hate and a need to spew it in all directions at once. This pack of Christian haters reminds me of the Mom watching the hundreds of soldiers marching and turning to her friend to comment, “Look! Everyone is out of step except Junior!”

Such is love, such is peace, such is goodwill toward men. Tis the season…

    • I think we need an Airing of the Grievances…

And I’d like to challenge some of those wingnuts to Feats of Strength!

    • I stopped using FB awhile ago….. Just got tired of the crap…….the reason I started FB was to keep in touch with my family in Illinois.

Hell….I can text them faster than using FB – and I am not bombarded with stupidity….

Speaking of face book, my wife got a friend request from a niece in-law.
This is very odd since that is the female whom set out to shun the rest of my nephew’s family. If it did not already exist… They would have invented the slang and demeaning meaning of the worst terms for the word “Bitch”.

She has tried her best to destroy the family and cause him to shun his mother and father. So why want to friend my wife? Her guess was to try and get dirt on the rest of the family. To get access to members of my nephew’s family to find out what others are saying about her. There is a problem with that since the rest of the family has already gotten over her and no longer see’s any need to discuss her.

LOL how intelligent is that woman? She sends out every other day e-mails about the President is a Muslim and how he is plotting to bring the Government down by turning it into a Communist State!
It is quite painful actually, since the nephew she had married was one of the favorites of everyone.

      • I suspect you’re right…this is her way to possibly get the ‘dirt’ on any and all family members.

We had a problem with a sister of my DIL. This was truly a nutcase…..a Jesus freak, on top of everything else.

She just wanted to stir up trouble…..and she tried her best…..

The only way to deal with toxic people like this is to AVOID them….

  5. This made me laugh out loud! Clearly the adults have way more fun with him than the kids ever will!

  6. An oldie but a goodie. A great way to deal with the ‘problem.’

  7. This is in Canada (ya know, đŸ˜‰ , that evil Socialist country).

  8. Have you heard about Rick Warren’s newest book? It is a diet book called the Daniel Plan. It is a 40-day diet plan which basically tells you to eat healthy foods and exercise. WOW….imagine that working…

I read where he talks about a ‘special sauce’ which consists of Faith, Focus and Friends.

In the articles I’ve read – Mr. Rickie says that having friends around you to support you in changing your eating habits to a more healthy lifestyle actually works…

Hmmmmm……so this Fundy Mega Church Evangelical Preacher Man is admitting that it does take a village for people to succeed?

Each and every Fundy Mega Church Preacher men owe Hillary Clinton a big apology..

Or …does that needing friends thingy only work when Fundy Christians want to lose weight?

What I see as a missed opportunity by this Mr. Rickie is this – he could come out and publicly talk about his son’s suicide and really help people in their life struggles.. He does mention the reason he wrote this book was because he and his wife were getting a lot of comfort food from their friends and supporters after their son’s suicide this past spring. And he gained weight.

But….NO….Mr. Rickie is making money off yet another diet book…….

This is why I hate Fundy Mega Churches……they are filled with vulnerable and celebrity-crazed fools who would buy a bag of horse shit if some Mega Church Preacher Man – or their cousin Bubba the Televangelist – told them the bag of shit was what Jesus would buy…

    Please,…spare me………..

BTW – Rickie also made his voice be heard about gay marriage….he is against it.

Who did not see that one coming????

    • I was on some website with people making some very funny comments about Mr. Rickie.

One person posted that Jesus walked on water because he was so skinny.

To which there was a reply – hell, anybody can walk on water if it is frozen hard enough.

      Food for thought??
