  1. Before the Republican Party ruined everything about religion I had the greatest love, respect and admiration for all religious beliefs and practices. Republican politicians and their followers who publicly introduced hate and bigotry into everyday life and into government have done a great disservice to anything good, kind or loving and I believe their work is pure evil.

    • One of the most precious Constitutional rights is the Freedom of Religion….which also means – one can choose NO religion and that person is guaranteed the right to hold that view and still be a full-fledged 100% Americans.

Have you ever noticed that when there is a fight over religion in the public space – it is usually one of these Fundy Evangelical Christians yelling the loudest?

  2. R.D. Liebst

Reading headers and the bits for articles at the beginning, I so reminds me of what I have been saying about he direction the Republican party has been traveling. I truly worry at times when I make the comparisons between how the Nazis gained power and the direction that they lead the German people. To that of how the Cons are leading this nation and its people toward.

That is makes what I say to be discounted and dismissed, along with me to be thought just another wacko-nut in lines with Sarah Palin and the people that support and believe such nuts to be right!

There is a question in my mind as to which is the reality, it is that they are truly that nuts or simply that they believe the rest of the people are just that crazy and they are playing along to get votes? Rivaling the best actors who convince you they are the part they are playing.

Of course there could be one other possibility, that other then a few of us no one actually does pay attention and so it does not matter what they say?
If you have not notice, many times if you bring such topics up outside of place that are dedicated to Politics. You get a odd look and at worst they slowly move gently away hoping you do not notice them putting space between you two…

    • I agree RD that only a few pay much attention. I think that’s what allows the crazies to fly under the radar. Although when those crazies can openly talk about President Obama not being born in America but you can’t talk openly about those who want to change our form of government to a Theocracy, something is seriously off track. Too much of what is being spread by Fox “News” and evangelinuts is pure evil and many who don’t pay enough attention are being fooled.

  3. US Spent Billions on Afghan Projects That Will Fall Apart When We Leave
After more than a decade, most of the troops are coming home. But billions are being left behind.

Hospitals — At least 19 of the hospitals built by the international community—including two US-funded facilities that cost nearly $20 million—may be too expensive for the Afghan government to run.

Power Grid — With two-thirds of Afghans lacking regular access to electricity, the US has spent more than a billion dollars beefing up the country’s power grid. But according to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), the state-run power company may not be able to pay its bills after 2014, when US funding expires.

Roads — The United States spent $1.7 billion on road and bridge building from 2002 to 2007, but some of the projects have already started to fall apart, “mainly because of the poor quality of initial construction, poor maintenance, and overloading,” according to SIGAR.

Schools — More Afghan children are being educated than ever before, thanks to international development efforts. But the Afghan government won’t be able to operate all the new schools, especially as international personnel and aid trickle out of the country.

Counternarcotics Aircraft — The Pentagon has invested $770 million for nearly 50 planes to patrol the countryside for opium poppy and hashish fields. But the Afghan government can’t afford the $100 million annual overhead—nor does it have enough qualified pilots to fly the aircraft.

    • Where are our hospitals – power grid – roads – schools …..?

That is what I always throw back in every Republican’s face whenever they start on this damn I hate Obamacare crappola…

George W. Bush spent OUR tax dollars giving free health care to Iraqi people…..and yet the same people that applauded GWB are now saying it is wrong for President Obama to make it possible for Americans to buy health insurance?

Why do Republicans HATE Americans so much?

  4. This is several months old. The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) will help improve these dismal numbers.

  5. Remember when republicans were whining about the memorials being shut down in DC? But it’s fine and dandy for republicans to decide issues of equality under the law, who is and isn’t deserving, who among our most vulnerable will be left to starve. Honoring those who serve? If you’re not a Christian, straight, white man with money republicans don’t give a shit about you.

  6. There is some good news today! A BIG hooray for Albuquerque voters who stood with women!

    • When will these Pro Life folks learn that the best way to prevent an abortion is through education……and access to birth control.

Oh, and to tell these Neanderthal males to keep the damn thing zipped up….

Oh , yeah, we never hear anything like that from these Pro Lifers – do we?

      It’s always the woman’s fault – you know. You Betcha…..Wink – Wink

  7. Who would have thought…..a Southern Baptist Preacher Man and his Holier-than-thou son being judgmental, hate-filled, mean-spirited and way of base on the true meaning of Christianity – IMHO.

    But, I’m not surprised.

I have been in their midst……and it’s not a pretty sight.

I know I’ve shared many stories of my time within the Fundy Evangelical Baptist World…….but there are some things that I’ve not yet shared……for fear they are so off-the-wall – you might accuse me of just – making stuff up.

    These people are N-U-T-S….
