  1. The Kochs are reorganizing.

Although I know it isn’t possible to spend their vast wealth, I also know there isn’t enough money in the world to sway the opinions of women in their direction. They under estimate the intelligence of women! Their policies are bad for us and our families!

As one of the comments to this article read: “…Republicans sure spend a lot of time and money trying to hide what they are doing, don’t they?”

(from the link): “The outside political efforts last year by Republican-leaning groups are widely regarded as a failure,” said one GOP operative. “Trotting out the same old groups and strategies will not be received well by donors. That’s why you see major rebranding efforts.”

Other topics on the agenda include the need to improve the recruitment of “principled candidates to run for office” and to “more effectively communicate” with key demographic groups such as Hispanics, women and youth, according to an email invitation sent to donors by Kevin Gentry, who coordinates Koch conference fundraising.

And they honestly think this is going to help them? ROFL Personal experience taught me that conservative men only need women to bolster their view of themselves or follow along behind. They don’t like women, they use them and expect them to do what they’re told with no questions asked. Women are not allowed to think for themselves or have opinions.

      Screw ’em.

      • I’ve noticed over the years that although they may respect a few women in their lives — mother, wife, daughter — they don’t respect women as a species. Their attitude is patronizing and so easily recognized! Bigger even than their lack of respect, their policies are aimed at keeping everyone but wealthy white men under control.

      • I still think this demonization and putting women in to a second class citizen category is coming straight out of these Mega Corporate Churches and Televangelists..

Just listen to what they are really saying……..and then consider these folks believe the King James Version of the Bible is the literal word of God.

Intelligent and independent women have always been the biggest threat to controlling and chauvinistic men….

  2. (from the link): But it does need to be said: he was a terrible president, arguably the worst ever, and not just for the reasons many others are pointing out.

From what I’ve read, most of the pushback against revisionism focuses on just how bad Bush’s policies were, from the disaster in Iraq to the way he destroyed FEMA, from the way he squandered a budget surplus to the way he drove up Medicare’s costs. And all of that is fair.

But I think there was something even bigger, in some ways, than his policy failures: Bush brought an unprecedented level of systematic dishonesty to American political life, and we may never recover.

Think about his two main “achievements,” if you want to call them that: the tax cuts and the Iraq war, both of which continue to cast long shadows over our nation’s destiny. The key thing to remember is that both were sold with lies.

    • But….but….George W. was the Uniter – not the Divider……

AND – most important – he bragged about being a Compassionate Conservative Christian…….Enough said?

  3. Andy Borowitz says —
Republicans: Obama Must Take Action in Syria So We Can Criticize Action He Took in Syria

I like this line of lyrics —

All we are saying is give peace a chance — John Lennon

    • It is something that always gets me, the refrain of do something! It not that there is the over abiding desire by the wailers, it is so that it can be point to what ever is done as a weapon to be used to bring the person down.

  4. Republicans are folks that are NEVER happy – we might as well just face it…

These are the folks who yammer and scream about federal spending while they get to walk up to the pharmacy counter and get their drugs paid for Medicare Drug Program – of which their boy – GWB – put into place without adequate funding.

    Hmmmmm…

  5. The only time Republicans are outraged is when they are no longer in total control…….

well, that, and when the young black male Democrat beat their old white male for president – not once, but twice!!!

  6. When you hear about the budget cuts to Head Start and Meals on Wheels – remind Democrats and Republicans about this wasteful federal spending…

  7. When you hear about the budget cuts to the military – remind Democrats and Republicans about this wasteful federal spending…

BTW – I posted the article from Fox News website for a specific reason – if it is Fox News, then why aren’t these Teabagger Deficit Hawks after John Boehner, Rob Portman and their other Congress Critter mentioned in this article? Get after their butts..- as well Democrat Sherrod Brown..

  8. Hey Wicked? When are you celebrating Beltane? Wednesday? Happy Festival of Fire whenever you celebrate.

    • Thanks for your posting PP – it made me do some research on Beltane and I learned something today.

I remember when I was growing up in the 50’s during elementary school – we always had a May Day Pole Flag dance.

Do the kids even do this any more – or do they even know about it?

I also remember every Arbor Day, we would go outside and plant a tree in the school yard.

Do kids today even know what Arbor Day is? Or are we too involved into fracking and destroying everything in sight so some wealthy Corporation (person – wink-wink) can make that extra dime in profit.

Good question, PP. I’m not really all that Wiccan…or anything else these days. Nose to the grindstone and all that. 😉 But I just might take Wednesday off. Might as well. I’ve slept most of today away, thanks to a bout a stomach flu on Saturday night that left me with no energy. I think I may survive, after all. 🙂

      • Stomach flu since Saturday night does not sound like much fun…

Sometimes the best thing to do is just sleep………then you don’t know how sick you are – LOL

  9. The best way to protest what is happening is to use OUR power at the ballot box…

  10. When I see pictures like these, that is when I think of God.

When I was involved in that Fundamental Baptist Mega Church, we were taught that God was a Judgmental Supreme Being sitting on some golden throne somewhere just waiting for us to step over that line so he could throw those lightning bolts, fire and brimstone down on our heads.

P.S. – and women should ALWAYS wear their pretty hair bows.

I prefer my concept of God ………

I remember that September day my husband and I were driving to Illinois to go to my brother’s memorial service the next day. The sun was setting and it was the most beautiful mix of colors. But there was something else – there was a sense of peace and calmness about the sky. I thought I could see my brother and his wife (who had died 6 years earlier) looking down and smiling.

For me – death is just opening another door to enter another realm. And love is an energy that is stronger than death.

But – that is just my opinion – and I have yet to hear anyone with indisputable evidence that my version is not the correct version.

BUT ….wouldn’t my Mega Church Preacher Man and all those professors at the Fundy Baptist College be a waggin’ their tongues at me and throwing them condemnation stones… ROFLMAO

  11. Oh, Oh…….Chris Christie has gone and done it again. He is praising and giving credit to President Obama.

Maybe this will be the tipping point for the Teabaggers and Fundy Evangies to break away from the GOP and start their own party.

    If only…..

  12. Ah! Excellent news!

“New polls in Alaska, Arizona, Nevada, and Ohio find serious backlash against Senators who voted against background checks in those states. Sen. Murkowski is down 16 points, Sen. Portman is down 18 points, and 46 percent of Nevadans are now less likely to support Sen. Heller for reelection. Finally, after just 3 months in office, Sen. Flake has become one of the most unpopular Senators in the country.”
