Besides picking the right father, these so-called Capitalists use the government for any and all special tax cuts and/or taxpayer-funded government subsidies to enrich themselves.
Furthermore – those special tax cuts and subsidies are usually the result of these same so-called Capitalists buying up lots of Politician Puppets to do thier bidding.
I used the term – so-called Capitalists – because this is not true capitaliam – IMHO.
I have admiration for those who risk their OWN money or get their OWN investors and start a company.
How many of thsee so-called Capitalits that use and abuse the goveernment they profess to h eate so much are really held accountable if their businessess fail?
Not too many……Just look at Wall Street – they got away with millions and STILL got bailed out…….
If you listened to Mitt Romney’s speech last night – one thing might have jumped out at you as – deja vu.
I’m talking about the part where Mitt told the people to hold on a little longer. A new America begins tonight.
Isn’t that about the same basic message that Obama gave in his speech in 2008?
Only Obama’s message was – Keep up Hope. Change is Coming.
Romney is desperately trying to run to the middle to get those independent voters and Reagan Democrats.
Who knows – it might work. But let’s keep reminding everyone of the type of people Romney has signed on to his campaign – the NeoConservatives. These are the folks that love to war monger for profit – their profit.
And that GOP War on Women is not going away anytime soon…….
Yes, I had the same thoughts you did when listening to Romney. He tried to say the same things only he doesn’t have the charisma to invoke excitement. Then I remembered there is absolutely no way of figuring out what part of what he says is believable. My next memory was all those republicans elected in 2010 who talked a good talk to get elected. They proved themselves to be liars one and all!
Pretty words.
Plus! Romney is the 1% who are taking control of our country. They’d have to take me to their ‘new world’ kicking and screaming.
There is one thing I agreed with Romney on in his speech – if he is really serious about government employees not making more money and getting all those benefits than the people they work for are getting.
Then can I expect Romney to come out shortly with a plan to cut the Congress Critters’ pay and all those cadillac health care benefits and their pensions?
In all the budget fighting last years – did we ever hear once about cutting the Congress Critters’ pay? If this was metnioned, I must have bmissed that memo
But, but….fnord. Ann Romney is Mitt’s secret weapon – haven’t you heard?
From the way these Republicans talk about Ann, one might think the Messiah this year is a woman…
Personally, I want them to put Ann Romney front and center. There is something about her that just oozes – I don’t care about you. And when Ann begins this playing the victim card of how her motherhood was being demonized – I think there will be a big backlash from those women who KNOW what is really like trying to work and feed your kids at the same time. And don’t even bring up the issue of health care – that is priced way too far out for any working woman’s budget.
Ann Romney may appeal to the white wealthy women in the GOP – but to the waitress, nurse aid, housekeeper or fast food worker with kids to feed – Ann is not exactly the type of woman any average American worker can relate to – IMHO
Ann certainly has more charisma than her husband. She may have read about average Americans, she may even have read about poor Americans. Those aren’t life experiences.
Steve Schmidt (McCain’s campaign manager from 2008) was on MSNBC and was talking about how Romney needs to distance himself from the Republican Congress because of their abysmal favorable poll ratings.
Uh, NO……Romney has boasted how he is so ‘severely conservative’ – let’s make Mitt hold to that label.
Mitt wanted to be the Grand Old Poobah – so let him deal with whatever negative polls theses Republicans have so justly earned.
Facts won’t matter to the true Teapublicans. All that matters to them is Anyone But Obama. That’s another reason they’ll lose. Their numbers are too small to elect anyone and outside their small numbers a candidate has to have solutions, has to be FOR something.
Here’s a man who understands the love and teachings of Jesus —
”Before you speak to me about your religion, first show it to me in how you treat other people; before you tell me how much you love your God, show me in how much you love all His children; before you preach to me of your passion for your faith, teach me about it through your compassion for your neighbors. In the end, I’m not as interested in what you have to tell or sell as in how you choose to live and give.”
I was trying to find a link to the story about this Mayor Cory Booker rescuing his neighbor from her house fire and I stumbled onto this story about Cory Booker being on the Ellen Degeneres show.
If you look way down towards the final paragraphs – Cory Booker said something to the effect that if you want to make God laugh, just make plans for yourself.
I believe in destiny and karma – and, in my world, the energy force that provides those two things is what I refer to as ‘God’. When I was in the Fundy Land of Evangelicals – I was taught that God is this Supreme Being sitting on some golden throne.
I don’t think ‘God’ is confined to some golden throne – do you? I see ‘God’ in the beauty of nature all around me. When we are lucky enough to have a night sky filled with twinkling stars, that is where I see ‘God’.
I see God in the faces of my beautiful two grandkids – especially when they are laughing and having a good time.
This is MY God I choose to worship – not some vengeful God sitting on some damn golden throne waiting to throw those folks he hates into the fiery pits of Hell. And we all know who the Fundy God hates, don’t we? Anyone that looks different than Fundies, believes different than Fundies , women who demand their rights to make their own decisions and espeically the homosexuals.
Who can say they follow Jesus if they don’t follow Jesus’ self-proclaimed Greatest Commandment to love one’s neighbor as one loves oneself?
He told everyone that what really matters most about a person isn’t how they define God, it’s how well they treat others. There were no exceptions just in case a person was gay.
The only way someone cold think people who follow one religion are superior to those following a different religion is to not follow that Greatest Commandment to love our neighbors. Exceptions for not loving Mormons, or Muslims, or … aren’t allowed. “No one comes to the Father except through me” does not mean that in the afterlife only Christians can get into heaven. It means that Jesus/God decides who does and doesn’t make it in.
God’s will and intention is to forgive and teach us, not to judge and punish us.
BTW – I see where Rush is again demonizing Sandra Fluke. This time about tweeting about that student loan interest rate going up.
Rush said that Fluke is workign with Hilary Rosen and Anita somebody (?) and getting her orders on when to tweet about certain issues – I guess Fluke tweeted this around the same time Obama was in North Carolina speaking about the student loan interest rate legislation coming up for a vote by July 1st.
What is about these arrogant GOP men and picking on women?
And the nuns are now the target of the male hierachy in their Catholic Church because they came out in support of health care reform?
What is it about these arrogant GOP men and doubling down on the wrong side of these issues?
I jsut don’t get it….unless it is nothing more than these GOP men are so fearful of women that they act like such fools?
Here is the link to Rush’s latest rant and demonization of Sandra Fluke.
Excuse me, but when did Sandra Fluke ever say she wanted someone else to pay for her education? As for the birth control issue, Fluke was not there to testify on her own behalf – but on the behalf of a friend.
But, when have the facts ever interfered with a good rant from Rush?
P.S. – You know, if Republicans Darrell Issa would have allowed Sandra Fluke to testify in that hearing – then would Rush be less alot of sponsors today?
One has to wonder……..why these Republicans are so afraid of women – and why aren’t any of these Republicans blaming Issa for starting all this Sandra Fluke stuff?
Unless……..this is what Rush and Issa wanted from the start? Follow this logic (well, it’s GOP logic which is proof that not all logic is intelligent -LMAO)
Issa refuses the Democrat woman from testifying.
Rush gets on his radio show and does his usual ranting – and he gets all his flying monkeys in a foaming at the mouth frenzy.
Hey – it has always worked before – hasn’t it? But, this time, I don’t think Rush even thought about how the sponsors would react……
And we all know how sponsors are – they go where the money is – and I suspect there were more than a few sponsors that were calling Rush every name in the book during that time period.
So – why does Rush feel the need to start this all over again? maybe it’s true – you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?
Conservatives like to fret that the United States is turning a giant European-style welfare state. But our big government and banking rules are what keep us from becoming Europe.
But didn’t Mitt Romney live in France and speaks French? IIRC – this was Mitt’s missionary assignment which just happened to coincide with time of the Vietnam War draft.
Dont’ get me wrong – I was all for anyone back in those days to get out of going to Vietnam if they could – but when the same folks who are now the war mongerers and wanting to go to war at the drop of a hat, need to think back and ask them a very hard question – WHY didn’t they go serve in Vietnam when it was their turn?
As for these GOP chicken hawks who love to war monger now – I am thinking of Cheney, Rush Limbaugh, Romney to name a few – just take a good look at the Grand Old Poobah Gang who loves to fly that flag, thump their Bible and sing Yankee Doodle Dandy – look at their own personal experience in going to war……
IIRC – Romney even protested IN FAVOR of the Vietnam War – didn’t he? I think someone posted that link a few weeks back.
So, if Romney had time to protest FOR the war – then why didn’t he have time to enlist?
Be very leery of any politician so eager and willing to send other peoples’ loved ones to do the actual fighting….
Yes! He sure did protest FOR the Vietnam war — another one of those inconvenient truths caught on tape. I’m sure there’s a church assignment for each of his sons to fill too. Right now they’re ‘serving their country’ by working on their Dad’s campaign. Isn’t that what he told us?
IOKIYAR……. I think we should make a law that says each and every Congress Critter that advocates for any war needs to pack their own bag or one of their own kids/grandkids to serve in the front lines of combat.
I wonder if these War Mongerers would be so trigger-happy to go to war then?
So, Mitt Romney has joined with President Obama in calling for the continuation of the student interest loan rate to be kept at it’s current 3.4%.
But Congressional Republicans are not so eager to keep the student loan interest at it’s current rate – and if this issue is not decided by July 1st, then what happens?
What frustrates me is to hear – once again – how Reublicans do not want to spend any money unless it is paid for soemtwhere else.
OK – where is this outrage when it comes to the extension of those special Bush tax cuts?
Where is this outrage when Romney and GOP Gang want to give even MORE special tax cuts to those already getting those special Bush tax cuts?
Why were these Republicans not outraged when George W. Bush started the Iraq WAR and put it on the damn Chinese Credit Card?
Where was all this self-righteous outrage at not wanting to spend money without it being covered somewhere else in the budget?
Republicans had TOTAL control from 2000 to 2006 and all we got from that was what we have been digging out of this damn deep black hole. And now that we are beginning to see the light of day again – along comes Romney and Gang and they want to double down on those special tax cuts that their boy Baby Bush gave us?
Yeah, sure – big eye roll/
One good thing – maybe these college students will wake up and take notice exactly which party is NOT wanting to help them get their education. After all, we have some of these GOPPERS on record saying that college students just sit on their butts and do nothing.
Isn’t that what these GOPPERS also say about those people on food stamps and welfare?
P.S. – Of course, we all know Romney will flip flop on this issue once the Grand Old Poobahs meet and pull his string to show the other side of his face……
There’s something very unnerving about Romney – he is such a butt-kisser and pandering for whatever power he can get.
He reminds me of this county commissioner I knew back home. This guy was known as the town drunk – but every time he was up for re-election, this guy would throw a fish fry for the entire county.
And every time this guy got voted back in. I asked a few people as to why did they keep voting for this guy when they knew he was a drunk – and the reply was – he sure does throw a good fish fry.
I learned from watching that city commissioner that sometimes it just comes down to – do you throw a good fish fry?
BTW – our county was smaller than most, so I’m guesing that fish fry expense was a drop in the bucket for another guaranteed paycheck and the luxury of being able to continue to drink while serving.
“Republicans had TOTAL control from 2000 to 2006 and all we got from that was what we have been digging out of this damn deep black hole.”
Yep! And you’re ‘spot on’ when you recognize Romney plans to do the Reagan / Bush2 strategy faster and harder. I do think the Occupy movement shed a lot of light on this and the only people that think going back to what didn’t work is a good move are those that aren’t listening because they want President Obama defeated and that’s all the further they’re capable of thinking. Not why. Not whether or not Romney would be better for America. Not whether or not our country and her basic principles of government survive.
Americans know too much to swallow Mitten$ pandering for the vote tactics. Women know too much. Hispanics know too much. Independents know too much. Everything he’s said is on tape, much in living color. 🙂
I get more than sad – I get angry when I see these professing ‘Christians’ doing all the hating and intolerance. Jesus did not hate and Jesus did not show intolerance of anyone but those money vendors he threw out of the Temple .
Hey – if I was one of those mega church millionaire dollar preachers using that big golden cross to bring in more tax-free millions – I’d be watching those church doors – if Jesus does come back – I hope he clears these fake churches of those money vendors FIRST.
Sounds like President Obama is well prepared for Mitten$ attempt to flip flop back to the center now that his far-right-wing stances have assured him the nomination. Mitten$ may attempt all day long but it will be pointed out to the American people! 🙂

Ready for the Fight: Rolling Stone Interview with Barack Obama
The president, in the Oval Office, discusses his job, the opposition and the coming campaign
I don’t think that their nominee is going to be able to suddenly say, “Everything I’ve said for the last six months, I didn’t mean.” I’m assuming that he meant it. When you’re running for president, people are paying attention to what you’re saying.
Their vision is that if there’s a sliver of folks doing well at the top who are unencumbered by any regulatory restraints whatsoever, that the nation will grow and prosperity will trickle down. The challenge that they’re going to have is: We tried it. From 2000 to 2008, that was the agenda. It wasn’t like we have to engage in some theoretical debate – we’ve got evidence of how it worked out. It did not work out well, and I think the American people understand that.
The key to Obama’s success will be the young college students, women and the Hispanics. Which is why these Republicans wanting to vote to raise the student loan interest rate makes no sense at all to me.
And then to call these same college students lazy people that want their education paid for by somebody else? These are LOANS……..nobody is getting anything for free in this no-brainer issue.
But, leave it to the Teapublicans to double down on stupidity…..
Isn’t that wonderful of Mitt to have that investment – but not everybody is that lucky. I have to bite my tongue from screaming when I hear these financial advisors telling people to put back so much money each month for their retirement – and then to have 6 to 12 months worth of living expenses in a savings.
Have these financial advisors lived in the real world of most working Americans – especially the young people?
The people I know are working longer hours for less pay and if they’re lucky, they can get health insurance through their company. But there is absolutely NO loyalty shown to the employees from their employer but the employer sure does push that ’employee loyalty’ crap on to the employees when they are called in for extra duty or to pick up the slack because the CEO has found it advantageous to his annual bonus check if he/she can fire a few more people.
So, bottom line, is this folks – the average American workers are working more, for less pay and with absolutely no dignity or appreciation for their labor. In fact, alot of Republicans then call the average workers -lazy and greedy – because they want to form or join a union.
Please, just give us a all frickin’ break …..the average Republican are like Romneys (the same mindset) – but even those few Republican working stiffs must be blind, stupid and dumb to keep funding the likes of the Romney mindset.
But, I suspect, without the Religioius Right Far Wingers of the GOP (and these people vote for Republican because they know that party is the one that will kiss their self-righteous butts for votes) – the Republicans would NEVER win another election.
You see, the GOP base is basically the Far Right Wingers and Romney – who has proudly boasted that he has always been ‘severely conservative’.
I went to the grocery store late this afternoon — the Dillons at Central and Maize. There was a ruckus, a disturbance… I’m not clear on the facts, I only know the people nearby, customers and employees, were frightened. I was scared shitless! We don’t know what a person who begins screaming might be capable of, whether that person is armed, where s/he might go with their rant.
I ‘think,’ (but don’t know for sure) the man asked for postage stamps and was given ‘freedom stamps.’ I know it had something to do with ‘freedom stamps.’ This man begins literally screaming. “Where’s the freedom? The nigger in the White House makes sure we have no freedom. Where’s the freedom? Listen, I know you aren’t paying attention! PAY ATTENTION! Where’s the freedom?”
This went on for what seemed like forever, but was probably only a few minutes, maybe less than a minute. The man seemed deranged. It got eerily quiet while we all listened to this man scream. No beeps of groceries being scanned, no human noise except this … man … screaming.
My first reaction to your story is maybe something people do no think of – but I do because I work the business.
Do you know how many people are on antidepressant, antipsychotic, or any other medication that affects a person’s thought process and mood?
Then factor in the Foxxies in the Hen House 24/7 coverage of all hatred of Obama – all the time.
Alot of these people on these medications are retired or disabled – so they are home 24/7 to watch the Foxxies in the Hen House hone their craft.
Our society is fragmented – IMHO – into different ‘groups’ and I think a major contributor to this is our media coverage. The majority of media is corporate driven – so there is a definite agenda.
One exception is NPR – IMHO – which is why I choose to listen to that station alot.
I process alot of patient’s medication profiles in my job and let me just say – nursing homes used to be for Grandma and Grandpa – the patients are getting younger and younger and they are coming in with major problems with anger, depression, psychotic.
It’s a scary world to think the person next to you in line at the Dillons store is one of those people I’ve been processing their med profiles.
But even in nursing homes – the violent patients are becoming more and more common. These tend to be the younger ones and/or the dementia patients. But the sad fact is – these patients are also the ones who tend to live the longest with their conditions. IMHO – I think it is because our society has pushed so many medications and/or surgical interventions to keep alot of these people living longer – and yet NOBODY wants to pay the higher costs of keeping these people.
It’s very frustrating to me when I hear some Pro-Life person say they believe in life from conception to natural death – but yet they are the ones that want the works done on them in case of an emergency – they want Full Code, ventilator, medications, surgery – no matter what it takes to keep on living.
Excuse me but when I see a 98-yr-old patient who is now on a ventilator that has a Full Code status – I have to wonder…….is this really the way God intended life to be??
I have coined my own term for what I’ve been watching in the last 20 years – Pickled and Pumped. Medications have pickled alot of people and then we pump them if they show any signs of leaving this Earth.
And then we have people who do NOT want to pay any taxes to pay for these people?
God help this country.
I don’t know how old this person in Dillons was – you never mentioned that factor. But from my experience at my job – there are patients in their late 30’s and 40’s in that disabled category and they have very long pages of medications they take everyday.
Can you imagine what would happen if they missed a dose?
I’m still scared. It left me with more jumbled thoughts, questions and fear than I would have guessed.
Thank goodness there wasn’t a gun involved — not by the man who was so upset or some ‘helpful’ bystander.
When I was telling hubby he asked questions that I couldn’t answer. This ‘incident’ caused time to freeze, caused anxiety that was almost overwhelming. Sadly, I’m still not calm about knowing that going to the grocery store could put me in contact with a person out of control. We never know what trials people may have gone through, or how they might handle them, do we?

Hmmm…….

I learned from watching that city commissioner that sometimes it just comes down to – do you throw a good fish fry?
correction: county commissioner –
BTW – our county was smaller than most, so I’m guesing that fish fry expense was a drop in the bucket for another guaranteed paycheck and the luxury of being able to continue to drink while serving.
Some voters are somewhat stupid………..
I really enjoy watching the republicans argue with one another! It’s fun!
“Rush gets on his radio show and does his usual ranting – and he gets all his flying monkeys in a foaming at the mouth frenzy.”
Good description of exactly what he does. I feel very sad about people who get riled up by hate and intolerance.

What in the world? I’m kinda speechless.
I’m guessing this man was 50 – 60.
