Who owns CBS? This morning, I’ve never seen so much gushing over any candidate as I listened to all three of these tv talking heads saying how wonderful Mitt Romney is and his Mormon faith keeps him from tooting his own horn.

I don’t really care if Mitt is a nice guy that helps his friends or not. What I want to know is how would MItt handle the global leaders he would be in constant contact with if he wre to become the president of hte US.

Are we going to see the two-sided flip-flopper Mitt or will the Mitt that seemed to relish the thought of pushing that red button to nuke Iran be the Mitt that prevails that day?

Bottom line – I don’t trust Mitt in the hands of the Republican Party – because MItt has NOT demonstrated any kind of cajones when it comes to telling the Grand Poobahs of the GOP where to get off.

I don’t like Ann Romney much either. She reminds me of a woman from my Fundy Church and let’s just say – the woman needed two mirrors – one for each face.

  2. Mitten$ is a neocon who will wage war in order to rule the world militarily and make Israel capitol of the new world oligarchy dressed up like a theocracy.

    Plain and simple!

Women, minorities, any other religions, anyone who is outside the ruling party (they’ll know who this is!) will not fare well. If you desire to serve the masters you might be a good little serf and receive an extra crumb from the table.

Sounds like a second-round of my discussion with that co-worker the other day.

He is convinced that Obama is a Muslim that has been planted in the White House by AlQueda to bring down America from within,

hey – if GWB and Cheney/Gang did not bring down American in their 8 years of disaster governing – I suspect America is strong enough to hold her own.

    • Guilty as charged! I sound every bit the conspiracist your coworker does. I could go get the PNAC documents that list their goals, and then I could list all the PNAC people working for Mitten$. It’s possible Mitten$ doesn’t know. I think he probably does, but it wouldn’t be beyond their capabilities to hide their true agenda.

I won’t take any chances ever again! I didn’t see any of this until Bush2 waged war with Iraq for no sensible reason and I wondered ‘what the hell.’ I hated the war he began with Afghanistan but even a pacifist like myself could see some justification. Iraq was never justifiable, it was clear to me from the git go it was trumped up, lied about… and I started asking, searching. Along came Rick with a load of links and I spent weeks studying. One link led to another question, one bit of info led to a deeper level of this evil and the malicious plans of these men.

Neocons aren’t well understood, and mostly go about their business in the light of day because who they are, what they are doing sounds so ‘out there’ that it’s laughed at.

      It is no laughing matter!

But the White Horse Prophecy is about the Mormons reinstituing the Constitution and installing a Mormon Theocracy.

As I understand it – the Neo Conservatives are those who just want to take over the world militarily – but as we saw with George W. Bush, the more clueless the puppet in the White House, the more damage they can do?

Which brings me to my point – didn’t someone post some links last week about the NeoCons that Mitt Romney is bringing or has brought into his campaign?

I can fully see the NeoCons being able to use Mitt Romney – in much the same way they used George W. Bush – but I’m sure we’ll hear that it is for the good of the country.. (just like before)

But if that is true – then the White Horse Prophecy is not really being fulfilled by Romney being president.

There are all kinds of conspiracy theories – which is why I HATE mixing religion and politics – I just think this is crazy talk – IMHO.

But the NeoCons we KNOW what they are capable of doing – we saw exactly what happened under GWB for 8 years.

And the motivation was power and money……….no God necessarily required, but it helps to keep the sheeple in line.

Have any of you seen the space shuttle? I remember my husband and I were sitting on some tarmack (sp?) waiting for our plane to take off and we looked over and saw the Space Shuttle. The pilot got on the overhead speaker and told everyone to look over and see it. It truly was a remarkable site to see – and to imagine the stories that shuttle could have told – if it were able to speak.

I don’t even remember where we were or what year this was – but I still remember seeing the shuttle. It left quite an impression.

IIRC – Newt was tryign to gain soem political tractgion by demonizing Obamaf for getting rid of the space shuttle – but wasn’t this plan already in the works before Obama got into office?

Besides – this part of our space program has been handed over to private enterprise (as you will read in this article) – so I would think Republicans would be ecstatic over the prospect of all that new entreprenuership (sp?) going on and all the future millionaires and billionaires to add to their most prized population group – the 1%

  4. A Tea Partier Just Called Me “Communist.”

My co-worker, Rob, sent me an email saying: Rep. Allen West states that 81 Democratic House members are communists. Isn’t every Democrat a communist?

    My answer to Rob:

Every Democrat is a communist . . . going all the way back to 1933 when FDR set up New Deal Communism. That would be the same New Deal communism you grew up under. The New Deal Communism that made us the richest, most powerful nation in history. The New Deal Communism that took us to the moon just 36 years after FDR was sworn in.
Let me show you the track record of those New Deal Communist Democrats.

Communist Truman left 2.5 percent unemployment to Eisenhower.
Republican Patriot Eisenhower left recession and 6.5 percent unemployment to Kennedy.
Communist Johnson left 3.5 percent unemployment to Nixon.
Republican Patriot Ford left recession and 7.5 unemployment to Jimmy Carter.
Communist Carter wasn’t able to improve much on the recession he inherited . . .

. . . and neither were Republican Patriots Reagan and Bush, who left recession and 7.2 unemployment to Bill Clinton.
Communist Bill Clinton left 4.2 percent unemployment to Dubya . . .
Republican Patriot Dubya left recession and 7.6 percent unemployment to Communist Barack Obama.
No Republican Patriot ever left office with unemployment under 5 % . . . including Reagan. No New Deal Communist ever left office with higher unemployment than they inherited . . . including Jimmy Carter who left the same unemployment he inherited from Ford.
3 out of 4 New Deal Communists left office with unemployment well under five percent.

    But wait . . . there’s more.

Let me show you the GDP growth figures from best administration to worst.

Communist Kennedy/Johnson. 4.8 % average annual GDP Growth.
    Communist Truman. 3.8%
    Communist Clinton. 3.7%
    Republican Patriot Reagan 3.4%
    Communist Carter 3.3%
    Republican Patriot Eisenhower 2.9%
    Republican Patriot Nixon/Ford 2.8%
    Republican Patriot GW Bush 2.2%
    Republican Patriot GHW Bush 2.1%
    But wait, there’s still more . . .
Republican Patriot Reagan saved us all from the New Deal Stalinism we had all been groaning under . . . that Stalinism that gave us the era of the muscle car, and took us to the moon.

How did America do, economically, before and after the “Reagan Revolution.” For example, how many quarters of economic boom did we have . . . quarters where annnualized GDP growth exceeded 6%.

“Boom” Quarters in the 28 years before Reagan’s inauguration: 34
“Boom” Quarters in the 28 years since Reagan’s inauguration. 14
Yes sirree, good thing we elected that Republican Patriot Reagan to start undoing all of that “communism” we had before 1981.
But wait . . . how have capitalists on Wall Street fared under those New Deal Communists. What did the Dow Jones Industrial Average do over the course of Republcan and Democratic Communist Administrations?

Republican Patriot Herbert Hoover -90% Thats MINUS 90%. The Dow lost 9/10ths of it’s value at the end of the Gilded Age.
    Communists FDR/TRuman +525% From 41 to 290.
Republican Patriot Eisenhower +120% From 290 to 630.
    Communists Kennedy/Johnson +51% From 630 to 950
    Republican Patriots Nixon/Ford +2% From 950 to 970
    Communist Carter +3% From 970 to 1000
    Republican Patriots Reagan/Bush +244% From 1000 to 2440
    Communist Clinton +264% From 2440 to 9880
Republican Patriot GW Bush -25% From 9880 to 7600
Communist Barack Obama +68% From 7600 to 12800 yesterday.
That’s right, Rod. Under that Muslim Communist Kenyan, the Dow Jones has come back from the low point it reached the very day he was sworn in.
So am I a “communist”, Rod?

Damn Skippy. Because the New Deal communists bring prosperity, while the Republican Patriots bring unemployment, recession . . . and don’t even make as much money for their own wealthy constituents.

Oh, I’m sorry, Rod. Did you have some numbers to go along with that word “communists?” Do you really think you can throw ugly words around and scare me? I’ll do what I just did . . . wear your ugly word, turn it around on you, and make you look like an idiot.

And speaking of idiots, did you say you were a doctor? Doctor of what?

Have a nice day. Send this to the other people you sent your “communist” nonsense. Go ahead, Rod, I dare you.

Since Republicans feel employers have the right to their employees’ passwords – don’t WE the PEOPLE have the right to demand the Republican Congress Critters’ passwords?

After all – Congress Critters do work for the taxpayers – we are their employer

I just got back from doing errands and saw this ……

What do you think about this issue? This is the same age as my granddaughter and if there was one of her classmates acting like this – I would not want my granddaughter subjected to what could happen to her – especially htat throwing furniture around.

The police said they tried to contact the mother 6 times – was there no other contact information?

While this may be extreme – just what does a teacher/principal do when a student is this out-of-control?

I have several friends who retired early from teaching – or just quit altogether – due to student behaviors like this happening. My friends told me they are powerless..

What is the answer to this?

  6. indypendent

Will be interesting to see how Mitt Romney responds to this situation.

Will Romney give Nugent an excuse to say vile and inappropriate words in much the same way Romney gave Rush a free pass when Rush called Sandra Fluke a slut and prostitute?

IIRC – Romn ey said that he would not not used those words when asked how he felt about Rush calling Sandra Fluke a slut and prostitute.

In other words – Mitt is afraid of Rush – a Far Right Winger. And Nugent is just another Far Right Winger – IMHO.

Is Mitt going to show some backbone and tell Nugent he is wrong or will Mitt give another free pass to Teddy?

    • indypendent

And in keeping with Romney’s demonization of Hilary Rosen for her comment – (another case of poor choice of words) – how does Mitt keep Nugent and his NRA buddies as his Far Right Wingers base without offending moderate and independents?

Why should a Democrat using poor word choices be demonized while the Far Right Wingers Republicans can say what they want and Romney gives them a free pass?

I’m sure we’ve all heard about the Secret Service scandal in Colombia? I listened to this guy on an NPR radio show and I found it very interesting that Dick Cheney’s daughter – Mary – obviously had more power than we knew.

According to this guy – the problems with the Secret Service go back quite a few years and it seems to be an internal problem.

I’ve been on other blogs and the Repubclians are going wild withthis story and blaming Obama for it – of course.

Seems to me – some house cleaning needs to be done in this agency – as well as any other government agency. I am always for transparency – from both sides of the aisle.

    • indypendent

clarification – Repubs are going wild with the Colombia scandal story – not the fact that Mary Cheney had the power to get the leader of her security detail removed…..

Hush, my mouth, a Cheney doing anything wrong?

      big eye roll////

    • Cheney had too much power, and if his daughter whined I’m sure he used that power.

  8. indypendent

As I’ve said before – I am all for transparency and it sounds like this GSA spending binge needs to be investigated.

But, then again, why do Republicans have to try to blame Obama for this? I would like to know how these type of spending binges were handled during th eBush years – or were they handled?

IIRC – another scandal erupted when Scooter Libby was finally the only White House-c0nnected guy that took the rap for the outing of the CIA agent Valerie Plame.

But didn’t GWB promise that he would thoroughly investigate the White House staff and if anyone outed the CIA agent, they would be fired?

AS I recall – Scooter Libby was the only person who was actually helda ccountable but even with that – Cheney defended Libby.

And what did we hear from Republicans about this scandal? Not much – except that Democrats were just trying to score political points.

Wow – politicians trying to score political points – that’s new one. bigger eye roll////

    • Boy, do I agree about investigating! This and probably too many more spending binges that haven’t become public knowledge!

    • prairie pond

Shrub sounded like O.J. vowing to investigate tirelessly until he found the killer who offed Nicole and Ron.

      insert big eye roll here

      • indypendent

Yeah, O.J. looked on every golf course – kinda like GWB held hand with the Saudi King and never once asked the King why his homeboys flew into the WTC on 9/11/2001. IIRC – everyone but one of those 9/11 hijackers came from Saudi Arabia…

Like fnord said earlier – alot of stuff happened and there are STILL no answers……one has to wonder WTF….

  9. indypendent

Now this is interesting…..ALEC is dropping social issues. I wonder if it has anything to do with all those corporations fleeing that particular sinking ship?

When is lying being a liar? Or is lying like beauty – it is in the eyes of beholder’s ears?

    • indypendent

When I think of any politician being called an out right liar – the mental picture of Richard Nixon saying – I’m not a crook – pops into my head.

      • No one can ignore the fact that Mitten$ is a liar, except those who choose very carefully what they want to ‘know.’ I can’t think of an issue that he hasn’t been for and against. Flip flopping may be the political term used, but liar is the tried-and-true way of describing him.

      • indypendent

I could call a bag of shit by another name – but isn’t it still just a bag of shit?

That’s the problem with these different groups seeing the same thing happening – such as their candidate lying – but it’s okay because their guy is only not telling the whole truth.

Yeah, sure….. Just another bag of shit……IMHO

      • indypendent

This is where rick’s theory comes is into play of ‘ how stupid do you think I am? -How stupid do you want me to be?”

Most people want to be told what they want to hear……it makes life easier that way. I suspect that is why Republicans appeal to the Far Right Winger Fundy Religious people – they’re used t6 be told what to think??

  11. Republicans voted against The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay act! Scott Walker just repealed the Wisconsin version of the fair pay act! Fair pay isn’t a women’s issue -— it’s a family issue!

Republicans do not value women, but President Obama does!

  12. There are women, not many, but some, who revel in their oppression by republicans! It’s sad, but true.

  13. Next November when the stats come out after the election and the women’s vote for President Obama is large, while the Republican Party looks at dismal numbers from women voters, will they then recognize and admit the War On Women?

I don’t think many of them will ever see the truth. I suspect they’ll blame the media a lot. I don’t know what other excuses they’ll use to avoid facts like 916 anti-women bills have been introduced by the GOP since March 2011. I honestly don’t watch Fox “News” ever. Is this denial of facts coming from there or do republicans simply ignore what might be inconvenient?

In whatever way they manage to avoid reality I’m tickled they have that skill finely honed. It’s not a long time until November, but it’s long enough that some damage control could be accomplished. When your head is in the sand and you don’t even admit the problem, there’s little chance you’re going to find any solutions.

We could also talk about the Latino vote, but why in the world should we interrupt the opponent while they’re self destructing? 🙂
