  1. DO READ THIS, PLEASE. We all need to know these things!

Mitt and the White Horse Prophecy

A close look at the roots of Romney’s — and the Mormon church’s — political ambitions

When Mitt Romney received his patriarchal blessing as a Michigan teenager, he was told that the Lord expected great things from him. All young Mormon men — the “worthy males” of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as it is officially known — receive such a blessing as they embark on their requisite journeys as religious missionaries. But at 19 years of age, the youngest son of the most prominent Mormon in American politics — a seventh-generation direct descendant of one of the faith’s founding 12 apostles—Mitt Romney had been singled out as a destined leader.

    • As I read through this article I began thinking about the secretive fundamentalist organization, The Family, and I of course thought about people like Rick Perry, Sam Brownback… and their opposition to Romney. Are there seeds of a religious conflict here? There is more than one ‘group’ who think they are to control the world and install the political Kingdom of God in Washington, D.C. This could be very serious!

With out a doubt, within the same Christian religions there are similar feeling about the differing sects. Catholic V Protestants. Even between differing sects of the Baptists, Fundamental, Southern, New testament, Bible Baptist, etc.

      • You are correct, sir. There are alot of hatred within even the same denominations let alone different religions.

But when these folks all hold the same weapons in their hands ready to kill in the name of THEIR God – is there really any difference?

BTW – this also applies to the Radical Islamists – even within the Muslims – they have their own divisions.

Religion and politics should NEVER mix.

  2. If you’re ever in Knoxville, Tennessee here is THE PLACE to spend your time and money!

TENNESSEE RESTAURANT THROWS OUT ANTI-GAY LAWMAKER | A restaurant in Knoxville, Tennessee refused to serve state Sen. Stacey Campfield, the man who sponsored the state’s “don’t say gay” bill, compared homosexuality to bestiality, and most recently told Michelangelo Signorile that it’s virtually impossible to spread HIV/AIDS through heterosexual sex. “I hope that Stacy Campfield now knows what if feels like to be unfairly discriminated against,” the Bistro at the Bijou wrote on its Facebook wall on Sunday. The restaurant has received an overwhelmingly positive response.

    • Hey – these free market Republicans should be loving this restaurant’s stand – shouldn’t they?

Let the free market decide who is able to buy from them and who is not.

I often feel I am being somewhat overdramatic saying it, but I can not help the feeling. When ever I hear Newt and see him. I somehow get the impression that it is much like it must have been in Germany in the thirties.
A thought possible leader who is saying that the nation is being depressed by a select few. And that he has the answer in a country and a world that is so against the common man.

While if the people would simply listen to him and actually look pass the issue to that person. They would see that this man would be leading them to ruination and being more down pressed. Only those who side with him and allow his free ranging maniacal ego to enslave them and the country.
would survive and actually endure free of his oppression to any degree.

Newt does frighten me for that degree and concerns me as to the intelligence of the common person. Those of his ego and intelligential delusions even if their own place is nothing like what his personal stance is. They still are blaming others who in reality have no easier life or status in the world.

Such stances and thought enabled such things as slavery and to downtrodden many. while those thinking and blaming others are in reality no different or better then those they blame for their own plight.
“Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it!”.

And true there is a real bug-a-boo about the comparisons and in a real sense there should be. To use such comparisons, is to cloud issues and actually belittle the seriousness of that issue. Also it will in some way downplay the real seriousness of the likes of Nazism and Hitler.

    • r.d.liebst

LOL pretty damn good for a guy who suffers brain damage huh? But hey there is a saling point for my opinion of Newt, “see even the brain damaged can see Newt is bad for the country!”

      • If one is able to put aside irrational hate for President Obama they would be able to see a lot much more clearly. I don’t expect that to happen. But I take heart in knowing their numbers are too small to win at the national level, and most Americans are able to think and see clearly.

      • While I agree Newt would be terrible as president – his basic ideas are no different than Romney or Santorum.

These are the folks that would take from the 99% taxpayers and give it to the 1% – end of story.

Santorum is worse in one aspect – he obviously believes it is okay for government to intervene into the personal sex lives of each citizen.

I wonder what happened to the idea of small government?

    • Well the masses are easily led. Look at the biggest and most often screamed complaints against President Obama:

He has increased the debt more than any other president. Not true

      He is anti-gun. Not true

      He raises taxes. Not true

Obamacare is _____ (fill in the blank but make it really bad). Not true

and then of course there are all the socialism, marxist, not citizen, pure crap statements that are also not true.

But there are a small number of people who actually believe all of this.

    • Here’s an article about Newt’s deep neocon ties. Scary shit, folks! Pay attention!

Newt Gingrich’s Deep Neocon Ties Drive His Bellicose Middle East Policy

If elected, Gingrich would be the first American president to emerge from the dark think-tank world born in the Reagan era that gave us the Iraq war and lusts now for an Iranian reprise. The Daily Beast closely examines Gingrich’s long-time association with this discredited cabal.

      • Let’s not forget who his main money man is in this primary campaign – Sheldon Adelson and his wife.

Google these two and then ask yourselves if the world really needs NeoCons working with staunch pro-Israel Jews who seem to want the Holy War.

Hey – the NeoCons have used the Religioius Right Republicans for years – as evidenced by George W. Bush’s years of war mongering.

And each one of the GOP presidential candidates (except Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman) have said they would go to war with Iran.

A vote for Republican is a vote for war?

If these folks want to go to war – then these folks can pack their bags and put their own butts on the front line – just pick a desert anywhere in the Middle East and go to it.

Of course, the rest of Americans (the sane ones) should all stramp these war-hungry folks’ ticket to be a one-way ticket. No coming back to America – if they survive.

  4. “Conservatives are saying, ‘Oh Bill, come on, Democrats did the same thing to [Bush].’ No. Say what you will about the Left’s hatred of Bush, at least we were hating on the REAL GUY. We didn’t invent a boogeyman who tanked the economy, took us to war on false pretenses, and tortured prisoners. That was the actual guy.

But run down the list of complaints about “Fantasy Obama”, he wants to raise your taxes…even though he’s lowered them. Confiscate your guns!…even those he’s never mentioned it. And read terrorists their rights! Yeah, like he did Tuesday in Somalia?

You see the difference is, the Republicans hatred of Obama is based on a paranoid feeling about what he MIGHT do, what he’s thinking, what he secretly wants to change. Anger with Bush was based on what he actually did.

What Bush was thinking didn’t matter…because he wasn’t.” — Bill Maher

    • The most traction thesse Rabid Republicans get on hating Obama is this birther nonsense.

And that was started by Sarah Palin – IMHO – during the 2008 campaign. She was the one that got them all started on Obama is ‘not one of us’ crap.

    • Part of New Rules, if I remember correctly. 99% of the time, Bill hits the nail on the head of the topic. The other 1% of the time, he’s right.

      • To be honest, a little bit of Bill Maher goes a long way with me, but his movie ‘Religioulous’ (sp?) was downright funny.

I think it’s because I am so cynical when it comes organized religion.

      • indy, I know that Bill can be hard to take for some. He thinks a lot of himself, but I see that in a lot of men. LOL I watch for several reasons. He does keep current on what’s going on in the world. He leans more left than right. His guests are interesting and nearly always a mix of both sides. And his New Rules is always spot on.

      • I know – that is my own personal preferences..

I do like Bill Maher because he gives it to both parties – which is deserved when he does.

  5. The Dukes of Hazzard star who could destroy Newt Gingrich … again
The actor at the centre of Newt’s mid-90s tax scandal watches the former speaker’s resurrection with amazement and disgust

  6. I just listened to a pundit on MSNBC talk about how Americans are fed up with the lack of bipartisanship. Andrea Mitchell then asked this guy what he thought was going to happen to break this.

This guy actually said that he thinks the American voters will decide which party wins and that party will govern with their own idealogy and policies.

This guy’s point is that the two parties are so fundamentally opposed that there are no longer any elected officials in the middle where the compromise has always been made – prior to the last few years.

But let’s see – if the winning party takes all and the minority party is to shut up – then where is the representative government that democracy is supposed to be about?

Not every elected office will be won by the same party – there are always Democrats and Republicans in a new Congress.

So, exactly how does this pundit’s plan going to work – to just let the winning party’s choice of President allow him to be the dictator?

Did anyone else see this? Am I missing something here? I have been sick since last night and I know I have been taking Sudafed to clear up this sinus headache – so maybe I missed a few things during this guy’s lecture?

    • It’s amazing how many seem not to realize there are three equal branches of government. The republicans assign a lot of power to President Obama. Remember how Boehner screamed he needed the president’s help? Boehner is unable to do his job and we know republicans don’t accept responsibility or assign ‘blame’ to their own party members, thus the president becomes all powerful and all responsible when they aren’t pleased.

      • Have you noticed that these same Republicans try to paint Obama as the thug and dictator with all these super powers. But yet out of the other side of their mouth, these same folks demonize Obama for being ‘just’ a community organizer.

    • Sorry to hear you’re sick! Hope you get better quickly!

      • Thanks – I’ve been around alot of folks with colds and flu lately. I’m hoping this is just a sinus headache and not the calling card for the flu bug…..LOL

  7. Just once, I would like to hear one of these Religioius Right Republicans tell me that they actually pray for President Obama – rather than trying to convince me why I should hate Obama.

Living with that much hatred 24/7 is not good for anyone. Hate is like a cancer – it eats away until there is nothing left but blackness and an empty space where once there was life.

  8. It is well past time to rethink the tax exempt status for churches!

Here Is The Anti-Obama Administration Letter That Was Read To Almost Every Catholic Sitting In Church On Sunday

    Read more:

    • Did I miss the part where the Catholic Church is also mad at themselves for their cover up of the child molesting priests?

I listened to NPR show last week about the current situation in the Catholic Church regarding their progess on cleaning up their own backyard in the matter of the child molesting priest cover up.

While some progress has been made – a few priests have been prosecuted and jailed – and there are some training courses being done in the Catholic Church. The fact remains that some of the higher bishops and cardinals who did the actaul covering up of the child molesting priestts have been rewarded with cushy jobs even higher up in the Catholic Church.

One cardinal even got himself a cushy job at the Vatican and was flown over in the middle of the night at the request of the Pope himself.

IIRC – the Catholic Church has already paid out $2 billion in settlements for their cover up.

So – until the Catholic Church can tell me that they are equally mad at their own covering up these child molesters as these folks seem to be at the Obama Administration for wanting birth control available to all women – I’ll not be holding much stock in what the Catholic Church has to say about anything.

The Catholic Church lost all credibility on moral issues a long time ago – IMHO.

Especially when that friend of mine whose ex-husband had some Catholic priest harass her to fill out some damn paperwork to annul their 20+ year marriage with 5 kids just so that this ex-husband and his new trophy wife can be good Catholics. The stupid part is – my friend and the ex were not even Catholics……

Wow – if those are the so-called ‘morals’ of this Catholic Church – they can take those morals and shove them ……

      • Update on that friend story: She never filled out the paperwork for annulment. But somehow the ex-husband still joined the Catholic Church. He was even featured in one of their newsletters about how he converted and his lovely family are a shining example (they adopted a child).

Funny thing – the article in the newsletter never mentioned the guy’s first family with the ex-wife and 5 kids.

I guess once you’ve been deemed ‘good’ Catholic – then your entire past is no longer real?

    • (banging head against desk)

I don’t understand why giving people options makes the Catholic Church so rabid. I knew many Catholics back in the ’70s who used birth control AND divorced. Doesn’t the Church understand that the tighter you try to hold on to others, the more they’ll rebel?

      • I suspect the Church fears that if people are given the freedom to think for themselves – they might not find their way back to the church doors to fill those church coffers.

      • And that is not just the Catholic Church – that goes for ALL churches – IMHO

      • Yeah, I had my reasons for staying so long, but many ended up being the same as with Protestant churches. For years and years I would tell people I didn’t believe in organized religion. I guess that’s never changed. It’s “religion” I have a problem with, not faith.

Religilous was the best. Not that much presented in it was a surprise, but it did make one think, especially at the end. I should drag that out and watch it again, just for the fun of it. LOL

  9. Are women going to be used as a reason our troops will be kept in Afghanistan beyond their expected withdrawal date?

We’ve been in Afghanistan for too many years – IMHO – and this issue has been arouind for a long time. This nonsense is in their culture. This is a problem for their President Karzai (which has been rewarded by the USA with alot of money over the years) to solve.

Why try to paint the US troop withdrawasl as a reason to worry about women’s rights in Afghanistan?

Besides – if any Republican gets into office – and especially Santorum and his Far Right Winger beliefs – the American women will have their own women’s rights issue to deal with..

  10. Posted as tribute to my loving husband. The poor man is just not very good at parking. But I love him anyway..LOL

  11. Have we all seen or heard about this new low for the RNC Chairman?

I saw the video clip of this Priebus guy saying this ever-so-clever little quip and he was smirking the entire time. I’m sure he thought he was being so clever – in much the same way as the Mean Girls Club in every junior high school across Wealthy White America.

And this is exactly why the Republicans are seen as nasty, mean-spirited, vindictive and all-around jerk-offs that they apparently must be.

    • I think Jay Carney’s response was great. Of course, I’m sure this went right over the Republicans’ heads – after all, they is proud of their arrogance.

    • I saw and heard him. Most adults aren’t impressed with the type of behavior that lands you a leadership role in the Republican Party.

  12. Interesting article – I hope that woman sends her husband’s resume to President Obama and Obama follows through on his offer to look into why the high-tech companies are telling him there are jobs but yet this woman’s engineer husband has been out of work for 3 years. She made the claim that foreign workers are getting visas to fill these high-tech jobs.

Could it be that companies are getting a taxpayer-funded subsidies or special tax breaks if they bring in foreign workers to fill these high-tech jobs?

And if so, then President Obama may not know this fact and this is why he has offered to look at this guy’s resume.

I sincerely hope Obama was serious and I hope this woman takes Obama at his word and she does send him the resume.

It would be interesting to see what comes of this….

When thinking about this – I remembered when the school district said they had to bring in foreign teachers to teach special education. These foreigners had to be taught English before they could even teach. I know of several special education teachers that were laid off or some new graduates that intereviewed for these teaching positions and yet they were not selected.

The big question is WHY? Again – is there some financial incentive to b ring in foreign workers?

I also know of some nursing homes that bring in foreign health care workers – again, we have unemployed Americans. Why are we bringing in foreign workers?

Is there a financial incentive to bring in foreign workers – and if so – WHY the HELL when we have high unemployment rates?

  13. This gives me hope. Not all religious leaders are opposed to President Obama’s decision about providing access to birth control.
