I understand the democrats (read President Obama) caved again in order to get a two-months extension for those who need unemployment benefits and those who can’t afford an increase in taxes.
So the next round of the fight will be after the first of the year.
How does it benefit republicans to fight for the rich and against the poor and middle class?
How? Easy. The rich are the Republicans’ constitutents, not the poor & middleclass! And the “rich” includes the large corporations which are “people,” now!
The reduction of bank credit has had an even bigger impact on small business than it would on large business, which can borrow money through corporate bonds and “commercial paper.” In contrast, small businesses rely almost exclusively on credit provided from banks.
The current situation stands in stark contrast to the recession at the start of the decade, following the dot-com bust. Even though commercial lending dropped severely, small business lending kept chugging upward. In this recession, the number of individual small business loans has fallen even further. Banks reported having just 1.5 million of those loans outstanding on Sept. 30, the smallest number since 1999, according to the FDIC data. Bank regulators define small business lending as loans of $1 million or less, regardless of the size of the business.
The numbers are especially troubling because businesses with fewer than 500 employees created 65 percent of the jobs between 1993 and 2009, according to the Small Business Administration. But in a November survey conducted by the National Federation of Independent Businesses, a small business advocacy group, only 7 percent said the next three months would be a “good time to expand.”
In an attempt to deflect one of the main Republican lines of attack on the health-care-reform program, President Obama announced that the new law will not set standard health benefits that insurers must provide. Instead, states can specify their own benefits by picking an existing health-care plan as a benchmark, and requiring all other insurers provide benefits of the same or greater value. Under this plan, the program will resemble the regional differences in state Medicaid programs.
I’m sick of the fear mongering! The sensational (especially when it’s stupid) makes the sound bites and that’s all some hear because that’s all the time they spend listening. It makes NO SENSE and behaving this way makes Bachmann look even less presidential.

(from the article) MICHELE BACHMANN: The problem would be the greatest under reaction in world history if we have an avowed madman who uses that nuclear weapon to wipe nations off the face of the Earth. And we have an IAEA report, that just recently came out, that said, literally, that Iran is within just months of being able to obtain that weapon. […]
RON PAUL: There is no U.N. report that said that. It’s totally wrong what you just said. That is not true. They produced information that led you to believe that but they have no evidence. There’s been no enrichment.
BACHMANN: If we agree with that the United States’ people could be at risk.
CNN’s “Truth Squad” examined the exchange and concluded: “The IAEA report does not say that Iran is within months of being able to obtain a nuclear weapon. So Bachmann is wrong.” CNN also pointed out that Paul’s assertion that “they have no evidence” may also be wrong.
Indeed the IAEA flagged a number of dual use technologies under development by the Iranians that could have military applications. But neither the IAEA nor reporting on current U.S. intelligence estimates suggest that Iran is anywhere near having the capabilities to produce a nuclear weapon in a matter of months.
Wish something like this would happen when I go to Target! 🙂 This is something I could see my Mother getting involved in if she were there. Shoot! I could get involved too!

Fact Checking Bachmann’s Claim That Iran Is A ‘Few Months’ From The Bomb

This destruction of the US Empire is the fault of the “Bankers” and “Wall Street Traders” not the “Occupiers.”
