  1. If Republicans would spend only 1% of their time trying to resolve our country’s problems instread of 100% of their time making Obama a one-term president, our country would be in much better shape.

    • But I am not holding my breath – pious, self-righteous people with no heart, compassion and cannot be shamed due to having no conscience never think of anyone but themselves.

I suspect that is why these folks like to hide in those mega churches adorned with all those gold crosses – they can feel superior to that guy ‘over there’ and still be a louse.

  2. It makes me really sad to know that those who are supposed to represent us have decided filling their pockets with money is more important than lives.

If Congress really cared, they’d enact laws to stop lobbying. Instead, they’ve installed judges who apparently are filling their pockets, too, while ignoring what the Founding Fathers put in place.

This is not the world I’d envisioned for my children or my grandchildren. 😦

  3. Good morning Triple Ps! This day promises to be a beauty. Fall is my absolute favorite season.

    In the news —
Germany approves committing more money to prop up struggling eurozone members such as Greece. Those austerity measures simply don’t work and more money must be given to expand the bailout fund in order to stimulate the economy. There will be time for cutting spending once they know whether the struggling can survive.

The republican wannabe president batch are still campaigning, the media is still trying to be relevant about who is and who isn’t, who said what and then flip-flopped… I think my plan is to sit this one out at least until someone decides which one wins.

Most of the media is still ignoring the OCCUPYWALLSTREET protests, however Lawrence O’Donnell is doing a great job of covering them!

NYPD will investigate the pepper spray incidents. We can predict accurately the outcome because police investigations will protect their own no matter how guilty they prove to be.

Cantaloupe (and who knows what else) may not be safe to eat. If republicans had their way we’d never know foods were unsafe because there would be no regulations and the free market would police themselves. Un huh.

Police in Alabama are getting ready to enforce what is considered by many as the toughest immigration law in the United States. How far will it make it in the court system before it is overturned as being unconstitutional? Not far!

The Red Sox really blew it!

    And onandonandon….

My Ginger girl has an appointment at the vet this afternoon to ‘get legal.’ Her city tag expired. I heard a cool / cold front is on its way? I sure hope so! The spike in temps yesterday reminded me of the hot summer and how unpleasant that was.

    What’s going on with YOU?

    • I just finished blogging about goals and setting goals. Anyone have a goal they need to work on? I included some great links… πŸ˜‰

On Your Mark, Get Set, Goal!

Fall always hits me with motivation. πŸ™‚

    • Fall is also my favorite time of the year. I just love the crisp cool air and the beginning of the end of another year.

But what I want to know is – why does each year seem to go faster and faster as I approach my 60’s???

      • WARNING! It doesn’t slow down after that 60th birthday, either. It just keeps zipping on by.

Now if we’d just get some of that crisp air. Sure, the nights are cooler, but yesterday’s high was 94. WTH? Looks like a great weekend, though. Youngest, oldest, and oldest’s daughter and I plan to attend Woofstock. Oldest will have homemade veggie soup simmering in the Crock Pot for later consumption, while we’re enjoying the doggies. Hope to see a former WEBlog poster there, just to say hi.

      • Shhh, wicked, I was trying to avoid thinking about AFTER I pass the 60 mark. LMAO

But one good thing, I can qualify to get my Social Security Benefits at 62 (if the damn politicians keep their grubby hands off the SS fund).

Those benefits will more than match what I now make at my part time weekend job – so this grandma can quit her job. Woo Hoo….

  4. Ladies and gentleman, we are currently cruising down Wall Street because we are fed up with our bosses! Pilots stage protest

Over 700 hundred activists, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) carriers, took their grievances to the streets as they protested for wages and benefits in light of a stalled merger between the airlines.
The demonstration coincided with the 11th straight day the Occupy Wall Street encampment, which has seen thousands of demonstrators descend onto downtown Manhattan – and hundreds arrested.

  5. It’s spreading — QUICKLY! πŸ™‚

Occupy Portland is in peaceful solidarity with the ongoing protest in New York City, Occupy Wall Street, and the growing number of cities whose people will no longer sit back watching corporate and special interests run their government. We are citizens of the United States, and this country is ours. We will take it back.

  6. HILARIOUS: As college students find they’re covered under their parents’ insurance under Obama, all of a sudden College Republicans are finding themselves unable to recruit. Yep! The republicans have effectively alienated women, minorities and youth.

    • Hee hee hee

Let’s hope the younger generation stays on target and does the right thing: Not vote Republican.

    • But as I commented last week, there are still those Republicans who demonize Obama for wanting to fine their 23 yr old son for not having health insurance because he does not work enough hours at Sam’s Club to qualify for health insurance.

When I told her that her husband could add their son to their health insurance policy at his local aviation company – she simply ignored me.

I guess these people really do not care if their 23-yr-old son will be needing further health care due to his kidney disease.

There are those who will not see the truth if it means they have to give Obama an ounce of credit.

  8. Welcome to OCCUPY TOGETHER, a hub for all of the events springing up across the country in solidarity with Occupy Wall St. As we have followed the news on facebook, twitter, and the various live feeds across the internet, we felt compelled to build a site that would help spread the word as more protests organize across the country. We hope to provide people with information about events that are organizing, ongoing, and building across the U.S. as we, the 99%, take action against the greed and corruption of the 1%.

We will try our best to provide you with the most accurate information possible. However, we are just a few volunteers and errors are bound to occur. Please be patient as we get this site off the ground and populated and please contact us if you have any info on new events, corrections, or suggestions for this site.

    • Thanks to those who put this together!! I find info via friends here and on FB. That Lawrence O’Donnell YouTube was terrific, fnord! I passed the info on to a friend on FB (that former Republican son of a good friend who has come over to the Dark Side with us ), although without the link, thanks to comments not allowing links there. I gave him a description, and today I see that he’s posted the video.

I have visions of the above graphic having a dot in every state…except Kansas. Let’s hope I’m wrong!

Now to check out that link… πŸ™‚

      • Guess I ought to read the whole comment section before I post. πŸ˜‰ (see my comment above) lol

      • Don’t feel bad, Moonshadow. We of little faith are thrilled to see we were wrong, right? πŸ™‚

So will you join us there on Sunday?

Looks like the #occupywichita on FB has almost 200 fans. There’s also an occupywichita there, too, but it doesn’t even have 10, and many posting are from occupyKC. I haven’t had my Twitter on today, so don’t know if there’s been much traffic for @occupytogether. My head is spinning with all this occupation.

Like fnord, I’m proud of the younger generation for picking this up and running with it. That leaves it to us older gens to pick up the slack and help make it a success. It’s the least we can do for our country.

      • I’ve got a historical society meeting on Sunday. It’s suppose to be over at 4pm. Depends on when I get my equipment loaded up as to what time I’m able to get out of there, but I plan on coming by. I’ll have my grandson with me and I’m thinking about getting out my camcorder and camera and seeing what kind of pictures and footage I can get. Will you be there around 5pm?

  9. I heard someone on some news show somewhere that this Occupy Wall Street protest movement has the potential to become even bigger than the Tea Party movement.

I wonder how the Wall Street Fat Cats are plotting to hijack this movement?

  10. I don’t remember if anyone has posted this link to the Dylan Ratigan proposal to get the money out of politics movement.

I have not had time to really read this article – but in conjunction with the Occupy Wall Street protesters – maybe this is the best time in our country to get the 99% of Americans who are getting the shaft from the 1% and their bought-and-paid-for Republicans totally involved and ready to kick some sorry butts.

    • I must clarify – there are also some bought-and-paid-for Democrats who are protecting the 1% wealthy – but it is mostly the GOP – as I can tell at this moment.

Republicans are yammering about Obama creating class warfare.

But isn’t giving a select group of people those ‘special’ Bush tax cuts for 10 years and then extending them for 2 more years creating class warfare?

I did not hear one word of outrage when that select grouip was singled out for their preferres seating in class warfare.

It all depends on which side of the gated community one lives – I guess.

  11. And this is one reason why Republicans have no shame – IMHO.

If you notice – the guy this Republican hired has a known history of using racial fear in his attack political ads.

BTW – did you all see where Rick Perry apologized for saying that Republicans did not have a heart? That was the ONE thing I agreed with Perry…..and then he goes and blows it by boot-licking those Teapublican boots.

  12. The following comments are from LEOs (Law Enforcement Officers) who are registered at . The forum clearly states, “These Are Private Forums for Law Enforcement.”

Meaning that the posts created are in fact made by those associated with law enforcement. Let’s see what they have to say about the recent protestor abuse by the NYPD.

    — man I LOVE how OC works wonders at clearing a sidewalk!!!

    — Those are great, the creaming kids are a hoot. I’m going to watch some more during football breaks. I’d love to see fire hoses employed, it would clean them up and clear the streets and sidewalks for traffic.

    — I love how the chick just falls to her knees and starts screaming!

    — LOL, those POOR protesters….i’ll lite a candle.

    — I thought that NYPD Lt. did a nice takedown on that kid in the orange shirt.

These are just a few examples. Police are gloating about it.

    • I wonder how many of these gloating are ex-military?

A true Law Enforcement Officer just does their duty – they do not bring their personal and/or political views into a situation.

But I have a question – if this forum is supposed to be ‘private’ then why put it out on the internet? That is the least private place I can think of….

      Not too smart….

Or it is some political group tying to make a statement??

  13. Julian Assange, the man who sits in prison, has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. Can’t you just hear the comments that will be made by the republicans!?Yes, they’ll be hateful. Remember when President Obama was nominated?

The Nobel Peace Prize nominees for 2011 recognize a number of activists, among them Julian Assange, Bradley Manning, Wael Ghonim, Tunisian blogger Lina Ben Mhenni, and Egyptian Israa Abdel Fattah together with the April 6 Youth Movement.

Thus the Arab Spring, as it has been termed, is well-represented in the Nobel Peace Prize nominees this year, and with good reason: It was a remarkable grassroots revolution that is still changing the North African and Middle East dynamic and, indeed, the world.

Much of this, however, might not have been possible but for the actions of Bradley Manning and Julian Assange’s WikiLeaks.

Everyone is welcome regardless of ideologies.

Purpose: Show solidarity for Occupy Wallstreet
Demand: Elected officials must act within our best interests or resign
Goal: get as many people as possible to occupy Douglas.

    First General Assembly

You are free to come and go as you wish, and encouraged to meet up there as much as possible until we start to see a tidal wave of change.

The reason this event is scheduled to last for months is because Occupy Wichita is one event. We will update this one event with information regarding our planned actions. This is the only place you will ever need to look to know what is happening. We will not be creating any additional events.

    • Wow, I’m pleasantly surprised! And since I’m not far from the meeting spot, I just may mosey on down and see how things go.

Anybody else game? Or interested in any more news on this?

      • I am! I will be there! I’m so proud of these young people, the least I can do is support them!

      • Super! We’ll have to coordinate our arrival…or something. LOL

I hate going places where I don’t know anyone. Not sure if I can drag a daughter along, but highly unlikely. The oldest (and most interested in politics) gave me a very practiced blank look when I mentioned the event, the middle two will be busy, and the youngest does the equivalent of sticking her fingers in her ears and singing La La La when the subject of politics comes up. It’s amazing how much has filtered through those fingers though. πŸ˜‰

  15. I always have to shake my head when I hear yet another Evangelical Christian Republican rant against how Obama is taking us towards that one-world government through his socialist agenda – yada, yada and more yada…

The fastest way to get that one-world govenrment is through globalization – and this is exactly why we need the 99% joining this protest movment.

I’ve said this many times before – the Evangelical Christian Republicans may call themselves the Religious Right – but they have hijacked the name of Christianity.

I suspect these Evangelicals are false prophets – of which the Bible warns us about.
