I have a picnic hangover…………… I need another “hair ‘o’ the dog…………. too bad I gave the leftover ribs to my son-in-law!

  2. Ginger turned up her nose to the dog food this morning! She is hangin’ out watching the driveway, hoping all those nice people come back…

Lest I offend them, I do want to say that I appreciate the fact that the Rain Gods blessed us with clear weather for our picnic, but would it be too much to ask that they spare us the thundershowers today and tomorrow? The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for SC and SE Kansas.

I could have told them that – just look at my backyard. It looks like a swamp. I think I saw an alligator out there.

  4. Muchos gracias to all for letting me in the front door. Outstanding food, friends and conversation. Ponder, you missed out on real tamales 😦

    • Thank you, Jammer, for teaching me how to eat tamales. It’s a bit embarrassing to admit, but how lucky I am to have such kind and generous teachers! 😉

Perhaps you can see why I was upset when I left Sears. This is a copy of a letter I have sent to the Eagle and the Augusta Gazette:

SEARS DOES NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS.

I called the Sears at Town east last Friday, I needing a new mower and since I liked Craftsman My first call was to Sears.

Then the sales associate said if I waited till Sunday it was “Friends and family day” I could get a discount. I did not really want to wait two days and could not come over after 6 P.M.

He said since I had to come from out of town, if I came in any time Sunday and told them I was from out of town I could still get the discount.

We came over Sunday and looked at the mower, there was one I liked better that was a little more expensive.

I asked about the discount and was told it was not till after 6. I then said I was from out of town and could not wait till 6.

I was told I could not get the discount even after I had been told I could and had waited two days to get it.

I came to Sears because of it and now was as much told I had been deceived.
I came from out of town, waited two days I needed the mower and had been deceived too.

I thought before I left Wichita I would give them a chance to make it right.

Management would not stand by the word of their sales associate or make right the wrong done.

This is how they treat “friends and family”?
