This is an interesting and informative article I found on Huffington Post today. It seems that for all the demonization Republicans heap on Obama for not enforcing the illegal immigration laws, their claim might be up for debate. According to this article, the Obama Administration has deported more illegals than the Bush Administration did. One big difference is the percentage of criminal illegals being deported has risen under Obama. What are your views, thoughts and comments? Is Obama being a hypocrit or is he simply following our established illegal immigration laws and trying to resolve this issue the correct way? Indypendent

Not to cast any aspersions on Laura Bush – she was heavily medicated due to living with George – but Michelle has taken the Hillary-activist First Lady mantle and moved the bar higher, to mix a metaphor.

I agree 100%. I think the entire Obama family is an asset to our country.
While Republicans are so busy touting they are the only ones with family values, along comes the Democrat President who actually lives those family values.
I was somewhat surprised when I read this article. From all the hype and hysteria I am hearing from the Republicans about Obama just letting all illegals come in so ACORN can get them all registered as Democrats (they actually said this), I was expecting to hear that Obama just suspended all deportations.
But, hey, if Obama is getting deporting the criminal illegals, then I would think the Republicans would be thrilled with his effort.
After all, they are the Party of Law and Order – aren’t they?
I have said this before, so please bear with me.
I am against the AZ law because I think it is just red-meat being thrown out to the gullible Republicans to ensure they all continue to be riled up and angry. That, and the fact that simply deporting everyone without papers is not going to solve the illegal immigration problem. We need to go after the employers who are knowingly exploiting the cheap labor.
And I think it is great if Obama is concentrating on getting the illegal criminals out of the country. We don’t need more criminals here – we are already at maxium capacity in our prisons.
So, I see Obama as once again quietly going about doing what is best for the country while the Republicans are busy throwing their hissy fits and just saying No.
There is seemingly only one way to curb illegal immigration; find the employers who are knowingly hiring them, shut them down, forfeiture of the assets (be it a business or the residence of those hiring gardeners, housekeepers, nannies), prison for the officers and directors of any business. Failing that, the tide may be temporarily stemmed, but it will roar back with a vengeance.
I don’t care which party it was that gave however million illegals amnesty in whatever year it was, but it was one of the biggest mistakes we could make. The leak of illegals into the country should have been stopped long before that ever happened. That amnesty was just one more incentive for anyone and everyone to walk over the borders.
Who was the first to turn a blind eye?
There are immigration agents who should be put in jail for some of the things they’ve done, in addition to the employers mentioned previously. Let’s face it, people are laughing all the way to the bank. I hope it won’t be long before they’re crying. Karma’s a bitch.
I notice this subject often come down to two different point of views.
One is the legal aspect they are entering illegally and there fore have not right to be here.
The second is the humanitarian aspect, they are fleeing a poor country where they can not support their family. And are oppressed there are just here seeking a better life for themselves and their family.
I am not surprised what the Republicans are saying which is a denial of the reality.
If Obama can stop the terrorist threat he would be accused of wanting to put the military out of a job!
If he could come up with a cure for cancer he would be accused of wanting to close Cancer treatment of America!
Anyway, enforcing the laws is just a part of the solution and about time it was being done!
