Today’s New Word: “Surreality”

This new word was inspired by a post from our guest, Paula.  It is a combination of the words “surreal” and “reality”.

sur-re-al – 1 : marked by the intense irrational reality of a dream

re-al-i-ty – 1 : the quality or state of being real

Sur-re-al-i-ty – 1: The sinking feeling one gets when communicating with a ranting evangelical that comes from the realization that they believe the falsehoods that their brain is manufacturing;  2: The tenets of the evangelical portion of the GOP.

You could, perhaps, leave the “evangelical” out of the last sentence.

When the ‘evangelicals’ start acting like true patriotic Americans and stop all this theocracy pushing – then perhaps the word ‘evangelical’ can be left out of the last sentence.

There does seem a good number within the party that makes up their reality. If facts and reality does not support or lead to their conclusion. They then point to their made up facts and reality and the farther they operate from reality the worst the delusional and making up of the reality.

  4. Thanks for the nod on the new word. As an unabashed word geek, it is an honor to have discovered a new word.

I live in the world of surreal and try my best to keep reality at a distance. 😉
