clownnemyI’m a bit ‘fed up’ with all things ‘political,’ but I sure like talking things over with the Prairie Pops.   Here we always find laughs, information, pats on the back, and encouragement to share.

Mother Nature is sure offering some beautiful November weather!

So — good company, good friends and good weather — those are a few of the important ingredients of happy days!

Love is not blind – it sees more, not less. But because it sees more, it is willing to see less.

Um, this may not fit in with the nice theme of this thread. But…

    ROFLMAO!!!!!!!

Did you all see this? Little Miss Carrie Prejean, she of bigoted remarks against queers at the “beauty” pageant, had to settle her lawsuit for virtually nothing because, wait for it, a SEX TAPE surfaced, starring little miss Beauty for Jesus!

    Hehehe. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAH!

They say she has a promising “solo” career as evidenced in the tape that was too racy for TMZ.

I’m tellin’ ya, we just couldnt even make this stuff UP! Some great comment under the DU story, including the classic…

“All christians are not pervs, but why are all pervs wingnut christians?”

Do they always think they wont get caught? Heheheh. At least the decrowned Prejean got a free boob job out of the whole ordeal.

    Jesus wept…..

One look at Miss Carrie will tell you all that you need to know about her. And then she opens her mouth and she leaves no doubt.

What is even funnier is how these so-called Christians and Republicans all jumped on her bandwagon without checking out her background.

      When will these people learn?

    • wicked

      Bimbos are everywhere!

    • Yep! One of them was on the ballot last fall as a vice-presidential candidate. I’ve heard she is one of the people who can discern whether a Republican candidate is or isn’t ‘conservative’ enough.

“RDA Folds Pastor Rick Warren’s Print Vehicle

Reader’s Digest Association is folding the print version of Purpose Driven Connection, the quarterly Christian-themed magazine it produces with pastor Rick Warren, after paid subscriptions failed to take off.

Launched in January, Purpose Driven Connection sought to tap into Warren’s popularity as a minister and author of The Purpose Driven Life. It represented one of RDA’s big ventures as it sought to grow revenue outside its flagship, the pocket-sized Reader’s Digest.

The magazine was part of a multiplatform effort that included interactive DVDs, study group guides and access to the Web site. A one-year subscription costs $29.99, according to the site.

    …snip…

“For Saddleback’s part, they found that their community loved the content but paying for it was an issue, hence online being their chosen delivery point,” the rep said.”

Maybe the Saddleback’s community could give less to their church and start paying for their own reading material.

  4. Wasn’t it you PrairiePond who told us if some of these wingnuts didn’t exist they’d have to be made up? Facts prove you are correct, and facts remain stranger than fiction. 🙂

It sounds like these so-called Christians want access to Warren’s writing but they don’t want to pay for it and that is why RDA’s venture with Rick Warren fell flat. Did I get it right?

Let’s take this theory a little further down this road of thought, okay?

It’s just like these Republicans, whose main base are these so-called Christians, want all the services of their government but they don’t want to pay for it.

So, in reality, these people are the leeches of society?

    • lilacluvr,

I think you hit the nail squarely on the head. That is what I’ve been telling conservatives for years now. It’s not that they want less government, it’s that they want everything to be FREE. If they didn’t have to pay taxes, they would never complain about government.

Try that on one sometime. Makes ’em hoppin mad, which I always take to mean that I hit the mark. Next try this gem on them:

So, if we did away with INDIVIDUAL income taxes and only business was taxed, you would have all your services and no taxes.

      Drives ’em crazy.

brought a small tear to the eye. Good people can do good things, even though there are obstacles to overcome.

    • Thanks for sharing! It brought a big happy feeling for me. People are good and do good things. We need to remember that! “News” too often tells us about the few who do less than good and we need to hear about the many who do so much.

Now isn’t this what America should be about – people helping each other?

If you are ever in the area, this is the place to go to get too much food to eat at one sitting, at a most reasonable cost. The “Miles Standwich” is the younger’s favorite.

Did anyone see Rep. Alan Grayson (D) from Florida start to read the names of the people from Republican districts that have died due to not having health insurance? Of course, the Republicans tried to shut him down. The House recessed and then reconvened and Grayson was allowed to continue.

I was channel surfing and caught it when the Republicans were trying to shut him down but I never returned to see what happened after the recess.

If you want to read more about this, Huffington Post has an article about it.

This Grayson guy is the same one that was kicking the Republicans’ butt about their health care plan – remember – when he was saying their solution to health care was to ‘die quickly’.

Wow.. there may be a vote on the House health care bill this Saturday.

TO hear Republicans tell it, Tuesday’s elections, in which their candidates captured the governorships of Virginia and New Jersey, were a repudiation of President Obama and indicated a voter shift toward their party. They should calm themselves down. The results don’t show this and, in fact, suggest some rather daunting challenges for the Republicans.

Haven’t you heard David – the Tea Party Express is the forewarning to our Day of Reckoning?

Yeah, that and 50 cents will get them a phone call.

A few days ago the subject of home owner’s mission creep was brought up again.
Today it was my turn for the unseen “Oh crap” when the simple task turned into a all day affair.

Mom lost her balance and dropped down on the toilet and some how managed to shatter the water reservoir tank on the back. She did not call for me, I heard a odd noise from upstairs and there she was standing in water and brushing her hair! The water was flowing from the cracked and broken reservoir I shut off the water valve.

OK Putting in a toilet is not brain surgery and so off we went to but a new one.
THAT IS UNTIL I tried to tighten it down and the blots would not tighten.
I took the toilet off again and the floor was so rotten that the ring that the blots hold to was coming up with the floor.

I spend the rest of the day taking up floor tile and then cutting out bad wood.
I finally got the floor replaced and the toilet in about 8:30 this evening… Dog tired and hurting feeling I had aged thirty years in one day.

Finally I got on line and the phone rang… Gee it was about my student loan that I have not been able to pay on since 2005. What is it about creditors that makes you feel like you are really talking to yourself and they are not hearing a damn thing you are saying. Finally to get off the phone I said sure what ever so with the warning that I am lying and know that I can not pay every month. What else can one do when I can’t does not register after the twenty time you say it?

Great I am tired, old and now a out and out liar! One of those days? Well I guess at least the Police have not showed up at the door to arrest me! Ahh, wait a minute there is a knock at the door…. .
