bagleyIt’s weekend again!  Was it because last Monday was a holiday that it seemed to go so quickly?

Anyone have big plans?

Love the cartoon, fnord! What an image to wake up to. LOL

  2. Their numbers are small, but the gas they can pass is amazing! When we forget how irrelevant they are we get nervous due to their ability to sound like more than they are. We need reminders to keep ‘things’ in perspective. 😉

    Grrrr..
Humorist Garrison Keillor has been released from Mayo Clinic’s Saint Marys Hospital after suffering a minor stroke earlier in the week.

Keillor spokesman David O’Neill released a brief statement Friday night saying Keillor left the Rochester hospital earlier in the evening.

Been watching the taxpayer’s march on Washington. Never been to one but envision kind like a Sci-Fi convention would be like.

Took my grandson to breakfast this morning (MCD’s – yuk!) and then to Riverside Park for a few hours. Both of us had a good time. He was very well behaved, except when he was playing in the fountain.

He wouldn’t come out and I wasn’t about to go in after him. After he got cold enough, he came out.

Other than having to change a “poopie” I throughly enjoyed myself.

Well, that and the McDonald’s breakfast sucked.

    Fnord, check your e-mail………………………

    • I did! Thank you sooo much! Biker took some pictures of our recent Labor Day cookout. I’ll be sharing with everyone soon. Send more! I loved all of them except the ones of me. 🙂

Okay, all you computer junkies. I think I need a PC doctor.

I’m burning DVDs. Actually copies of a DVD that contains mostly .pdfs and MP3s. It worked great yesterday. I copied the original files onto my computer, then burned them onto a DVD+R. That DVD (a Sony) worked great! I need 6 or 7 more copies. These are for my writers’ group.

One of the members brought me a new package of blank DVDs yesterday. I opened them early this afternoon and went through the same steps I did yesterday on the first copy. Something TERRIBLE happened. These Memorex DVD-Rs crapped out my DVD/CD drive. It won’t even detect a disc of any kind in it. Hardware diagnostics tell me nothing. I tried reinstalling the driver from the HP (yes, I always buy HP and have had no problems) website, but it says I don’t have the mimum requirements. I take that to mean I don’t have a DVD/CD drive!

I’ve hooked up a portable USB drive to my computer and have successful burned one DVD (another Sony) with the files and will do some later. But what the H3LL is wrong with my computer DVD/CD drive? Should I sue Memorex?

I should’ve known better. Mercury is retrograde and that means computer and communication problems. I’ve cried enough tears. It has not been the best of days.

On a happier note, Payton is still slowly improving. 🙂

    • I think you were speaking a foreign language until you got to that last sentence. But that last sentence came through loud and clear and wonderful!

    • Ok, I understood the next to last sentence too. I really feel sad when you’re having a hard time. Wish there was something I could do. Can’t even offer a hug, but wish I could.

I take it that the Memorex DVDs are DVD-Rs, too; if they are DVD+Rs that might be the problem. Also, Memorex media can be sketchy, although I’ve not had too many problems.

The Sonys are DVD+Rs, the Memorex are DVD-Rs. As it turned out, I was able to copy to the Sonys with my external USB DVD/CD drive. I got that last year when I got my netbook and have hardly used it. Sometimes luck–the good kind–rears its head.

We think the laser on my drive may have gone bad. Since I don’t use it daily, I’m leaving my external semi-hooked up. 🙂 I’ll get a new drive for the ‘puter when I’m a little more flush. I found a nice one for not too much.

Thanks, 6176! If I hadn’t promised copies for others, I’d be sailing along without knowing there was a problem, only to realize it at a later date, I’m sure. Such is life. LOL

    MICHIGAN 38 – Notre Dame 34.

Any day that ND loses is a good day. Any day that MI wins is also a good day.

Any day that Michigan beats Notre Dame is a great day.

Any day that Michigan comes from behind and beats Notre Dame with a touchdown with 11 seconds left in the game is a FABULOUS day.

    Go Blue!
