  1. A cloudy cool morning
    drinking coffee on the porch
    watching birds flit about
at peace with who I am
    for now

Glad we had no hail damage last night; dreading the heat of the day to come; and, generally, trying to decide what to do first to start catching up from 6+ weeks away from the office.

I started watching CSPAN coverage of the Senate, it was a memorial for Norm Coleman.
Shoot after an hour and a half I was ready to divorce my wife and marry Norm Coleman he was just perfect!

Of course, Victoria Jackson is such an intellect that she went on from SNL and did what exactly?

She is entitled to her own opinion, like we are all guaranteed by the Constitution, but I feel when Republicans are having to quote Victoria Jackson as their source of ‘wisdom’, then they are in deep, deep trouble.

I just got in from going to the zoo with my granddaughter and I saw the news where Sen. John Ensign’s parents paid his mistress, her husband and their children $12,000 each (total $96,000) as gifts??

Is this some more of those famous family values that these hypocrit Republicans accuse the godless Democrats of not having?

SEKB, I’m gonna take one out of your vocabulary to comment on John “family values” Ensign.

    “Pitiful. Just pitiful.”

But of course, it’s the eeeeeevil gays who are destroying marriage and family. Not ensign or sanford.

At least John Edwards is pro gay-marriage.

It’s just pitiful that Edwards is the GOOD news in these scandals regarding extra marital affairs.

…and is anyone but me surprised to find that ensign is only 51?

I hate when I think someone is an old bassturd and then I find out they are younger than I am!

    • tosmarttobegop

I am 51 too and I do not look that old!
But to make sure I got rid of every mirror in the house too…..

Ahh there are some situation that are so bad that some comment is needed. But it seems impossible to say anything intelligent because it is so bad. two cases, Michael Jackson’s skin Doctor asked if he is the father of the two oldest children? “ To the best of my knowledge…. No!”. Humm, does that mean there is a possibility he would not have known if he gave a sperm sample? Some one snuck in and took one in the middle of the night while he was sleeping! “ Honestly I thought I was having a wet dream!!!!!”

A Republican spin mister on the latest news about Ensign, “Yes it is time for someone with in the party to make a strong statement that the party will not tolerate such actions!”. What starting now? Last week?
Tomorrow? “No seriously we really do believe in family values!”

Seem to me that for the Republicans—at least the ones representing us, believing in family values and living them are apples and oranges. “Do as I say, not as I do!” I hate to tell them this, but actions speak louder than words, and if you want to teach your children values, you show by example, not preach them.

And they wonder why values are sliding downhill.

As for Michael Jackson, who cares? He’s the legal father of those children, no matter how they were conceived or by whom. The man is dead. Please leave his children alone, before they end up with a childhood as bad as his.

      • tosmarttobegop

Just in case there was a misunderstanding, I was not truly addressing the children and who their father is.
I was commenting on that outlandish answer of the Doctor, “to the best of his knowledge”? As if there is a chance he would not know if it’s possible. But I agree I do so feel for the children and hope they can escape that side show circus. It angered me while Paris was trying to speak at the memorial they seem to be pawing her. I can understand trying to comfort her but the Constant grabbing and tugging seemed beyond that to me.

I didn’t direct that at you, tstb, just other people who have no sense in general. I didn’t watch the circus…I mean funeral. Why? I completely forgot it was to be televised. There’s life out here beyond Hollywood and it requires work. Some days it seems like that’s all that gets done before I fall into bed to get less sleep than I should. Blame not enough sleep on the reason I wasn’t clear. That and the usual ditziness. 🙂
