Republicans counting on Climate Change Bill to save them

Renewable environmentRepublicans have long ago given up having ideas or solutions of their own, and set their fortunes on the Democratic Party messing up badly enough that voters will turn to them. Yesterday when the global warming energy legislation narrowly passed the House, the GOP members began chanting, ““B.T.U., B.T.U.” and seemed almost in a celebratory mood. Always the Party to look backward instead of forward, they are counting on 1993.

According to an article in The New York Times, Friday’s vote will be the ‘way back’ for the Republican Party.

“House Democrats, in the early months of the Clinton administration, reluctantly backed a proposed B.T.U. tax — a new levy on each unit of energy consumed — only to see it ignored by the Senate and seized as a campaign issue by Republicans, who took control of the House the next year. A lot of Democrat members got burnt on that vote,” warned Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio, the House Republican leader, who called the climate change measure the defining vote of this, the 111th, Congress.”

THE DEFENSE BUDGET IS STILL TOO BIG – by Jack Shanahan

REAL AMERICANS live between here and here....

REAL AMERICANS live between here and here....

Just this month, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told a crowd in Auburn, NY, that Obama’s plan to cut $1 billion from missile defense–[….]–was somehow a sign of weakness.  Would you be surprised to learn that the Obama defense budget is actually $20 billion bigger than the last one signed by President George W. Bush? Continue reading

THE STORY TOLD BY THE BROKEN DOWN HOUSE.

tosmarttobegop

Factors can lead to a house being broken down, money is always a consideration you don’t fix the problem if you can not afford the cost. But they’re maybe an equally depressing factor that is not as plain to see as a house in need of paint or the wearing of old and faded clothes.

It is of a broken soul, one where the hope is gone and all that is left is the continuation of life.

Housework left undone, as there seems little reason to do it, it will not change what is the real problem.

Why clean a house if after doing so it is still a place you would rather not be?

There seems little use of repair or patch if it does not change life and love to something that is to be cherished.

Perhaps the people are in a stale marriage, one where the daily turn is the consideration of which would be more painful. To be with them or to be without them? Maybe in the past such efforts as to improve a marriage ends not in an improvement. But a shining light to highlight that which has not changed or will not.

So why then waste the time and money on improving a house? When a stale marriage can also be found in a Palace. Be it a wanting house or a Palace the marriage is still stale and also wanting.

Perhaps life it’s self has taken an overall down turn and the house is simply reflecting almost a punishment for the down turns. Failing any attempts to cause an upturn has left the residents of the house to suffer the outward show of the inward sorrow.

You drive down the street and see the house, which is a blight thinking to yourself these must be poor and un-respectful people of society. Maybe uneducated and lazy on welfare so they live barely above an animal.

But then there maybe a story that goes beyond a checkbook or an education being told.

New DSM V Diagnosis – “Blame Evasion Disorder”

This new diagnostic category may be introduced in the upcoming edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manuel – 5th Edition:  Blame Evasion Disorder.  Sufferers of this disorder tend to voice these precepts:

1.  Women practice and  are the cause of sexism.

2.  Minorities are racist and therefore promote racism.

3.  Washington, D.C., the territory conservatives owned from 2001 to 2009, is liberal.

4.  Poor people, undeserving of loans,  who possess very little ecomonic power, caused the housing market melt-down.

5. Gays and lesibians are out to destroy the concept of heterosexual marriage.

6. All Liberals are evil and racist.

People with this disorder tend to rant on and on at conservative blog locations.  Treatment for this very sad disorder is not yet available.  Psychosurgery options may need to be considered.

Thomas Frank helped do some of the leg-work on identifying this new condition.  Read more here.

Conservatives under Obama? Like Daniel in the Lions’ Den?

Cruising through Freeperville, I found this gem.  This writer thinks that the policies of Obama are crippling Christian people everywhere and the imperitives of the U.S. of A.

Some selected quotes [I swear, I’m not making this up]:

“I believe God will hear the prayers and pleas of the humble and righteous who are willing to get on their knees and ask Him to spare our country.”

“Public hate and disdain for people of faith have been allowed to fester since this administration swept into Washington. In fact, it is promoted by the ‘progressive’ ideologues within our legislative halls, public institutions, and the biased liberal media.”

“Obama has stated that he wants to convert the stock the U.S. government now owns in the nation’s banks from preferred stock, which is the case currently, to common stock. This modification in type of stock may seem irrelevant at first glance, but under further analysis it is the single greatest communist policy the U.S. government has ever adopted: It means that the federal government will control all of the currently publicly traded major banks and financial institutions in the nation which are currently in the hands of individual shareholders. Not only will the current shareholders’ rights be trampled, but the control of the nation’s flow of money is the first keystone of communism.” [Didn’t get that?  Me, neither.]

“Obama has given the GOP until October to approve his health care plan, which many experts have shown would be as socialized as Cuba’s. If the Republican Party does not meet his demands, the Democratic Party will simply change the very rules of the United States Senate to pass their legislation through simple majority, instead of the 60% which has been required by the Senate through history. Changing legislation to suit the leader is another common tactic of communist leaders from Chavez to Castro.”

“The man in the White House is being unfaithful to his country and to God. President Barack Hussein Obama thinks only of his own earthly ambitions and pernicious ideology — Marxism. We are admonished to pray for our leaders. Please place the president and his full cabinet on the top of your prayer list, and pray for God’s will to be done.”

This is just a small sampling of the raging going on over at Freeperville.  If you think that Scott Roeder is a rare and isolated case, reading in this place, might make you want to reconsider that thought.  There are scary and very crazy nuts out there.
