assembly_childrens_day_nov20

June 1 is “The International Children’s Day,” first celebrated worldwide in October 1955.  The holiday is simply set to honor children and minors.  The United States of America is one of only two countries in the world that have not ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. As of November 2007, 193 countries have ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Do something nice for a child today — maybe the child will be the one inside you!  😉

  1. How ironic. Anyway, I got crap to do in meatspace.
Expense report. Unemployment filing. Yardwork. Also got a plastic roof vent that was blown out with the last wind storm, blah blah.
    Life, family, meatspace…..yuck.

  2. Sounds like a very long to-do list! Pace yourself, it’s hot.

    The irony didn’t escape me.

I always will celebrate children and minors! I also will always think a woman’s decisions are hers to make — a woman, her doctor and her god.

After yesterday, I don’t have the energy–or the will–to celebrate anything. If anyone is really interested in celebrating children, I have 4 grandchildren you can borrow and celebrate with all day. 🙂

I found, much to my dismay, that my younger has the correct mentality to become a dominatrix, er, a therapist (tip of the hat to PrairiePond), so I’ll not be celebrating children the rest of the day either. When I recover, I may share; it wasn’t very pretty.

    • She is not a child! Not even a minor. She is an adult woman. Obviously a really accomplished adult woman. I admire confidence. 😉
