  1. Good morning fnord. Just doing a quick drive-by.
You might ocassionaly check for pending comments, as I’ve encouraged the Shawn Phillips fans to visit and witness my shameless promotion of their favorite artist.
I’ll ‘see’ you all this evening.

It’s a lovely spring day in Amsterdam.

    My happy place:

Good morning all. I’ve decided to let the roads dry out before venturing off to my job. So I’m noodling away on the intertubes. And I found this on Democratic Underground, regarding the pirates and the rescue. The title said something about how those Seal snipers are bad mofo’s. And they are.

But this comment made my day!

“So when do we send the Seals into Goldman Sachs? Those f***ing pirates are holding the entire country hostage. ”

    So true. So true.

LOL my daughter came by this morning and when she left she said have a fun day! I told her the only fun thing I knew I was doing today was to take the trash out to the curb. I thought of reviewing some of the half dozen stories I had started and lost interest in. I hate when that happens, because once I do look at them again. I have lost the Sprite that inspired me in the first place. They become like a piece of wood that you saw a image in to carve. But unless you work till its finished when you look at it again. The image is no longer the same.

  5. My Canadian friend who lives and works in America, absolutely loves America, but will never let go of certain Canadian heroes sent this. If you’re a hockey fan, you might enjoy it. She said her American friends would never understand this awesomeness. 😉

Good Morning all! Now back to keeping my head down and butt covered.

  7. If the Republican Party ever listen to this wise young Meghan McCain, they will be back in power! I wonder when and if this will happen?

    A Gayer GOP
    by Meghan McCain

Meghan McCain on why supporting gay marriage is fundamentally in line with Republican values, and what the GOP stands to gain by doing so.

“I believe that people who fall in love should have the option to get married. Lest we forget, our founding document, the Declaration of Independence, grants the same rights to everyone in this country—“All men are created equal.” If you think certain rights should not apply to certain people, then you are saying those people are not equal. People may always have a difference of opinion on certain lifestyles, but championing a position that wants to treat people unequally isn’t just un-Republican. At its fundamental core, it’s un-American.”

    Okay, here’s some fun.

Imagine you are wearily walking through a large train station in Antwerp. You hear a familiar tune over the paging system.. and then THIS breaks out..

  9. Delightful!

Did you see all the happy people, smiling faces?!

Bet that promotion brought more interested people than any other way they could have spent advertising dollars.

  10. “Hi everyone…
Dave is scheduled for surgery first thing in the morning. He took a small step back today and they had to restart the nitro drip. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers please. He will be in SICU after surgery, if there are no complications, he should be home by the weekend (we hope)…the doctor expects to be finished around noon. He is getting really good care. Mary”

  11. “Minn. court declares Franken leading vote-getter

ST. PAUL, Minn. — A Minnesota court has confirmed that Democrat Al Franken won the most votes in his 2008 Senate race against Republican Norm Coleman.

Monday’s ruling isn’t expected to be the final word because Coleman previously announced plans to appeal to the state Supreme Court. He has 10 days to do so. That appeal could mean weeks more delay in seating Minnesota’s second senator.

After a statewide recount and seven-week trial, Franken stands 312 votes ahead. Franken gained more votes from the election challenge than Coleman, the candidate who brought it.

The state law Coleman sued under merely required three judges to determine who got the most votes and is therefore entitled to an election certificate. That critical certificate is on hold pending appeal.”

  12. Irony? Karma?

I read today about a study where stem cells spurred new eggs in the ovaries of adult mice, and the mouse study suggests that one day stem cell therapy may hold promise for women who are infertile.

You asked yesterday(?) if I had a spell for Dave. To be honest, I’m not into “spells” all that much. But I can give one “spellish” suggestion. Light and burn a green candle (or candles). Green is the color for health (& wealth), so just think of Dave when you light and each time you glance at the candle, sending out positive vibes that all will be well.

Please send my best wishes and hopes to Mary.

Mention of her and her husband’s difficulties go entirely unmentioned on WE Blog. I want to say something. Her neighbors, Hank and Nathan SHOULD say something. Maybe they do not because Mary recently RIPPED Nathan.

I know there are folks still at WE Blog and not here who care. I am unsure how to tell them.

Hi all… somehow I got logged out and I can’t seem to figure out how to get logged back in. Wanted to drop a quick line to see how everyone was. We have a sick baby (ear infection, I think. They told us to expect a lot of these due to her palate… ugh.) so not a lot of sleep or time, and I am back to work now so even less sleep and time! I’ll try to stop in periodically just to catch up…. fnord, I need to get you my email, I just keep forgetting… I’ll remember one year

  16. Good night Dollface… Where ever you are.

    WMac, hang in there.

Ha! I wondered why my ears were burning. My name popped up on the blogthatshallnotbenamed. Gave me an excuse to sell myself. Oops, that’s prostitution. Let’s try “promote”. 😉

Would you share where this happened? My tolerance for wading through feces is not as great as it used to be. Part of my recovery, I think.

  19. prairiepond

Thanks Wicked. I was just kidding about you casting spells. But I think the green candle is a good idea. If nothing else, it helps focus the thoughts and energy I want to send Mary and Dave. He’s having surgery this morning. Light and love to them and theirs.

I gotta tell ya, if I was sick? I cant think of anyone I’d want by my side more than Mary. She’s one tough woman and a damn fine nurse. I know she’s making sure Dave gets the best care possible.

iggy, I assure you that no one was taking my name in vain. How dare they even try!

It was the Top 10 Recession Winners thread. MrC invoked my name, and like a bad penny, I turned up.
