I heard Eric Cantor is going to ‘rebrand’ the entire Republican party with a speech later today. Yep. Paul Ryan chimed in and said they’ll win with ideas! Won’t it be refreshing to hear an idea other than cut taxes and control women from republicans? I’m really looking forward to this!
Do you suppose all the silliness at the state level will stop as soon as Eric Cantor gives the rebranding full-of-ideas speech?
As someone pointed out this morning – this is Eric Cantor’s third or fourth attempt at rebranding the GOP.
Hey -it’s the message that is the problem.
Oh wait a minute….silly me…..as we learned the other day from the over-the-fence peeper – the problem is not the problem – it’s our attitude toward the problem.
Therein – ladies and gentlemen – is why the GOP cannot get people to buy into the rebranding of the GOP. The majority of people have woke up to the true GOP message and they are turning these CONS off…
Hopefully in 2014 midterms – the CONS will be shown many more exit doors……
Now, where is that Gong Show stage hook…….WE the PEOPLE need to start using that damn thing…
Zelots do not allow themselves to be swade by logic or reason. To abandon the me-mes that have worked for so long to gander the support of the thought-less. has the same draw that if once he said he truly loves you and get sex. The insentive is to keep saying the same line rather then to speak with truth that all you really meant was I want sex.
Sounds a lot like the run up to the 2010 midterms when republicans talked about jobs until they were elected and started attacking women’s rights, gay rights and disenfranchising voters. I can’t imagine the person who would fall for words again. I know for sure the majority of women won’t fall for it, we’re much wiser than republicans give us credit for being. We’ll need action because we already know Eric Cantor’s word is meaningless.
(from the link): Now Cantor is trying to soften his hard-edged reputation, portraying the Republican Party as caring deeply about education, health care and innovation.
In a highly touted speech to the American Enterprise Institute on Tuesday, the Virginia congressman plans to pay tribute to the “working mom:” “Her grocery bills are higher, her kids’ school needs are more expensive, rent is up – and now, she’s just trying to get by.”
And: “Too many parents have to weigh whether they can afford to miss work even for half a day to see their child off on the first day of school or attend a parent-teacher conference.”
Based on advance excerpts provided by his office, Cantor seems more interested in projecting empathy than offering new legislative solutions. But this could be the start of an important branding exercise.
‘working mom’ sounds alot like ‘soccer mom’ which is what George W. Bush used to get elected – remember?
IIRC – wasn’t it George W. Bush and his total GOP controlled Congress that gave a double Child Tax Credit in order to kiss those soccer moms into voting for them?
Hmmm….and now all we hear is how the Republicans want to reform the tax code.
Hmmm….working mom seems to be the target this time……so are we going to see another special tax credit working moms everywhere?
But….but….aren’t these Republicans the same Congress Critters that voted again the LIly Ledbetter Act for equal pay? Why – yes – I think I remember correctly.
Wouldn’t working moms get more out of equal pay than some potential tax credict
Just asking..

Let’s see what these Republicans actually accomplished from 2000 to 2006 when they had TOTAL control of Washington.
Hmmmm…….two unfunded wars – invaded Iraq on false premises – unfunded Medicare Drug Program – unfunded Bush tax cuts – No Child Left Behind which has destroyed the public school education system.
I did leave something out….and it’s rather interesting to think about -
In all those total years of GOP control – how many times did they try to oveturn Roe vs Wade – or even try to push through anti-abortion legislation or anti-birton control legislation?
DAre I say – none.
So – why in 2010 was the push so hard for these Pro-Life Republicans to ram everything down our throats that is anti-women’s health reproductive rights?
And I have not even started on the job economic growth during Dubya’s eight years of ineptness, bravado, macho and nothing more than showing us what a little Cowboy with a Big Hat and a Big Mouth can do……
Why would any intelligent person want to return to that?
P.S. – If I am not mistaken – Eric Cantor, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell were all there during those GWB eight years of total GOP control…….and what were they doing?
Being the every dutiful little cheerleaders shaking their pom-poms for their Little Cowboy President.
In the words of McCain and the GOP Boy’s claim to fame to pick Sarah Palin as their VP candidate – thanks, but NO thanks.
So this basically means that Republicans would rather waste money, time, energy and keep the hatred pot stirred against Obama even though Obama and the Democrats actually followed through on what the Republicans promised years ago?
And we are to vote for these Republicans based on what – their ability to do what is good for the country and its people?
Yeah….sure…..(big eye roll)..
Oh, silly me, of course I am commanded to vote for these Republicans – after all, that is what GOD and the Bible tells me to do – is that the deal?
I’ve said this before…..if I could buy Republicans for what they are worth and sell them for what they THINK they are worth – I could pay off the national debt, have enough money to give every American a living-wage job and still have money left over.
Proud to be Ignorant should be the new motto of the Grand Old Party.
But, I wonder long will it take before the Hate Talk Radio shock jocks and Foxxies in the Hen House Group of Gossipy Old Church Women start to cackle about this guy and try to say this guy is being persecuted…
3…2…1….let the FAr Right Tirade begin..
FYI – this guy was also a coach….Hmmm……in Alabama and a coach….Hmmmm…these Far Right Winger Deep Southerners get more ignorant as each days passes..
IIRC – Ronald Reagan was no skinny minnie – was he? And that was the genius that actually tried to classify ketchup as a vegetable for the very same school lunch program that these GOP buffoons are showing their ignorance about..
Hmmmm…..I wonder how many calories in a big ol’ boy of ketchup as a side dish ?
If these buffoons demonize Michelle Obama for the low calorie lunches – then why don’t they demonize their St. Ronnie?
What is it the President always says? They just can’t accept yes.
They cannot accept ‘yes’ because they will not get the credit…
I strongly believe the current Republicans are like those dog and pony church people.
You know the kind – these are the folks that want EVERYONE to know how much they give and to what causes they give.
Remind me again about that Bible story where the widow gave her last mite? NOW that was true giving…..
Nothing dog and pony about that widow…..
I would rather go with you just can not fix stupid…

If one of their ideas is something President Obama agrees with will they still support it or will they need to oppose their own idea?
These buffoons just cannot help themselves – they are proud to be ignorant..
Heheehee. Like Mitch filibustering his own bill? HA!
Exactly……

Well, we know for damn sure they would benefit from the Violence Against Women Act, something the repukes refuse to support.

Just an observation from the cartoon above -
