  1. Conservatives either don’t understand the definition of the word “irony,” reject the idea of irony or are blind to it; otherwise they would never be able to express a thought.

If you want to see irony defined in speech, see anything that is uttered by any conservative politician.

  2. Elephantzheimers

Conservative memory loss. Typically afflicts republicans who forget that George Bush administration is responsible for our economic mess, the wars, the job loss, and the debt.

My dad is voting Republican in the mid-term elections. He suffers from elephantzheimers, and blames Obama’s two years in office for the country’s woes, conveniently ignoring the eight years of Bush fuck-ups that screwed us inside out.

I would like to add – it was not only George W. Bush that started this economic mess – it really started going downhill during the Reagan years.

Clinton had a surplus and he was the only Democrat in the bunch – and what do these fiscal conservative Republicans always bring up about Clinton – his inability to keep his pants zipped.

But in the current crop of Republican male candidates, alot of them have been found with their pants unzipped – but suddenly that does not matter to these Conservative, morally superior Republicans.

      Go figure.

      • Unzipping his pants was not Clinton’s only failing–let us not forget that Clinton was also an economic conservative in that he believed in some of this supply-side, bottom-down, lax regulation crap that is written in red in the Conservative Economic Bible. It was Clinton that signed the bill that undid Glass-Steagal. And despite a majority in Congress since 2006 and winning the White House in 2008, the regulations that served our economy well since they were put into place in response to the greed that caused the Great Depression have yet to be restored. So Obama has some fault as well.

The undoing of Glass-Steagal was a done deal by a Republican-controlled Congress. Clinton signed it – and he should not have doen that – but the bill would have passed even if Clinton had vetoed it – in my opinion.

And let’s not forget – all presidents campaign as those white knights who will clean up Washington but all eventually end up being corporatists.

And that is the fault of the corrupt system We the People have allowed to flourish.

I had a rather interesting conversation with a good friend who is a loyal Tea Party supporter.

He sounded very sincere when he tried to convince me thate Tea Party is not a political party but rather it is a movement. And they are no way connected to the established Republicans.

I asked this good friend if knew where alot of the money that supports these tea party candidates is coming from and he stated – with a very sincere face – that all the donations are from the common people.

Since when are billionaires the common people?

  4. This is a very interesting article because we are going to start hearing much wailing and gnashing of teeth on this issue in the weeks to come. As a matter of fact, it has already started.

My favorite part? It’s where GMAC tries to argue that not having any documentation or proper review to support their arguments on a factual basis is merely “a technicality.” They draw up papers stating that a person defaulted on a loan and the papers are signed by someone who has never seen the file, yet this person signs as guarantor that the information they are providing to the court is true and accurate. WHAT??! HOLY COW!

“The documents from the lender, GMAC Mortgage, were approved by an employee whose title was “limited signing officer,” an indication to the lawyer that his knowledge of the case was effectively nonexistent…the employee, who casually acknowledged that he had prepared 400 foreclosures a day for GMAC and that contrary to his sworn statements, they had not been reviewed by him or anyone else…GMAC…called this omission a technicality.”

I heard on MSNBC the Dylan Ratigan show that some of those foreclosure processers were hired from Walmart as retail clerks and had no formal training – no on-the-job training in what they were doing.

But wasn’t that basically what was going on when alot of those mortgages were being handed out? Everyone down the line took their piece of the pie out of those golden little nuggets flying out the door and alot of those mortgage processors were not exactly real estate and/or financial experts. They were simply there to push papers and get their particular piece of the pie for their employer.

  5. I like this a lot!
